I did have that day in mind when pondering whether to buy the bronze or the green one. I definitely won't be wearing it on the day, to avoid causing confusion.

Batchelor's tinned mushy peas with high amounts of preservatives green in colour. Someone said yesterday on showing them the photo of the hat. 🤔 🧐

Full disclosure - back in the late 90s I used to wear a fabulous pair of moleskin trousers in a very similar shade.

I've got green handlebar tape of that kind of shade on one of my bikes. It drew comments when it was new but it has gone a bit more drab now.

I've just ordered it in my 60cm, the only but one other surviving size. The 285 pounds down to 145 pounds slightly swayed it! 🧐

They've already taken the payment out of my bank account though, which I find a bit annoying. Why have something for sale then find it isn't available for sale after all?! 🤔 It's ok saying choose an alternative item, but there aren't any items left in their sale that are my size.


I quite like the one below, but it's twice as much as the green one was and it has a 9.5 centimeter wide brim which is absolutely massive! Maybe I could email the sellers and ask for the one below for the same as I paid for the green poet fedora, or at least with a sizable price reduction. They can only say no and if they did I'd be in my rights to ask for my money back. 🤔

It's also available in black. I quite like black though it is quite formal, so not very match-able with earth colour tweeds, though it is still possible to wear both together. Plus, I don't own a black hat at all, though I do have a black corduroy flat cap somewhere in my flat, which I haven't seen for a few years now.

I've noticed this on t'net that sometimes a different colour of exactly the same item is more expensive, but not sussed why.
Different sizes yes because of the varying amount of material used, but colour - ?

Yes, I think they know my rights, but are hoping that by not offering me an immediate refund I'll just order something else for the same price, but there isn't anything else for the same price. Like I said, I'll send them an email asking for the one of the above hats at a reduced price and if they say no I'll ask for my money back. I could understand if they were dodgy fleabay sellers, but they are based at 73 Jermyn Street, St James's, London, SW1Y, 6NP, United Kingdom. Which is a renowned high end gents clothing etc part of London.

Strangely I find it a relief ,that the good folk of Lancashire ,will not have their senses offended by somesuch modern day Beau Brummell disporting himself in such a hideous bilious shade of green.
To be frank ,that blue one isn't much better.

Supply and demand.

Popular colours will cost more, particularly if the are running low on stock of them.
