Or even a Bakewell tart.:blush::whistle::okay:

Nah not a patch on the pudding, first time I took* Maz to Bakewell I bought a pudding and we crossed the bridge to the 'showground' where I unpacked the stove and made us a cuppa then cut the pudding into quarters. Maz tried a bit and was hooked mind it was idyllic, sat in the sun on the riverbank.

*When I say 'took' we were hiking with a tent etc and had just taken 2 trains to Matlock via Derby and a bus on to Bakewell.

They certainly do,but you don't expect Philandering first in line Princes to be a Cad & bounder,, Eddie the VII , was one such Swine,, put his Dad Bert , in an early grave or so Queen Vicky says,

I can't remember if it was Victoria's eldest boy or the eldest of her grandsons, but 'fortunately' he 'passed away' before getting to the throne. He was viewed by his family as a risk to Britain. Some have more recently in time speculated a connection to Jack the Ripper, can't remember what the evidence for a connection was supposed to be, he was one of several possibles. His dying early must have been so surprisinly handy. I have sometimes wondered if he was helped. I suppose he may not have actually died at all, but just been declared dead, just as QEII and her parents covered up members of the Queen Mothers family as being dead. The 2 sisters actually had learning disabilities / a syndrome and were actually put in asylums for decades, after the population were told they had both died.

I guess Prince Phil was not really a 'first in line prince' re succession but he spent his last years not with the Queen (until his illness/Covid combined to reunite them at least in location) but supposedly with his very long term girlfriend Penny at Wood Farm.

I suspect philandering was always the done thing with Princes, as was maintaining the ignorance of the masses about it. No mess guns for they!

Aside from this history comment, I might mention how much I enjoy reading this clothing thread and the interesting additions to Accys wardrobe.
Many thanks for the enjoyment and style.

Mmmm, I quite like this one. šŸ¤” 26.5 inch arm length in a size 40, 27 inch in size 42. I need 'long arms' due to my very long arms. It's also very long body/back length wise, which I like. It's made in a super heavyweight wool! Weight: 750gsm | 26oz. Plus it has a pocket on the left breast, making it perfect for adding a pocket square!

I had to have it, so I bought it. šŸ§ Ā£666.50, after my 20 percent reduction offered by Cordings to 'valued customers', plus 10 percent off my next order which I seem to receive with every order now. :okay:

That's Albert Victor eldest son of (the future) Edward VII. Reportedly not the sharpest knife in the box and got himself in various scandals.

I wore it yesterday. Ok, it was 46 Fahrenheit/8 Celsius around here, which isn't exactly 'freezing':cold: and it wasn't windy which helps, but folk around me said they were cold, yet I was nice and warm, even with the coat unbuttoned.šŸ§

I have a 1960s overcoat made of the same Yorkshire cloth that I inherited from my late father in law. I rarely wear it because it's so warm that walking to the station in 'normal' cold weather can cause one to overheat.

I did a ā€˜Dad Good Deed Of The Dayā€™ yesterday

Amelia tried ā€˜Flossieā€™ on again, after another year or so
With the sleeves turned up (sheepskin on show), it fits her now
Sheā€™d told me that she was looking for one, lā€™ve seen a few of the Nurses wearing them, but theyā€™re all seemingly flimsy/thin garments

Iā€™ve had this one for about 30 years, itā€™s damned thick (& heavy!)
It was a substantial price back then, if memory serves correctly, well over Ā£150!!!

Just need to keep her away from Border Collies now, or theyā€™ll try to herd her!!

Also; note the substantial wooden coat-hanger, as it bends the wire hangers, & has snapped plastic ones in the past!

In one of 'The Gentleman's Gazette' videos they mentioned 35 ounce wool coats worn in the 1930's/40's/50's. Imagine wearing that weight! It'd be like wearing an Axminster carpet, albeit quite comfy. I have a navy blue double breasted overcoat, the same length as the Cordings one,

but if I remember rightly weighing 6 and a half pounds in weight, compared to the Cordings one, which weighs 5 and a half pounds as I found out by weighing it on my luggage scales.

I've lost ANOTHER pair of gloves! As usual it's always the best pair we lose. These were Lakeland brown suede and leather. I paid about Ā£35 for them, must be about 18 months ago from TK Maxx which was decent price. I never lose cheapo wool ones, no it's always the soft leather ones that disappear! I'm now thinking about buying these Cordings ones below, though is it worth it as I could lose them as well.

Put them on a length of string that goes through your sleeves
