Fish and chips
Seldom go to a 'chippy' but did so today.
Fish, chips n peas £8.60!!!!
I asked her "how come, how much is the fish".....£5.50:eek::eek:..
Bear in mind this is Warrington not London.

There's a new upmarket chippy opened in the town next to us. £9.50 for fish and chips. It's actually cheaper to walk 5mins down to Wetherspoons and get fish, chips, and peas, with a free drink, and eat it inside. Economies of scale I suppose, but still ... tenner for fish and chips.

Might have to start a poll about who has a doner kebab and chips though
I was debating this with a work colleague on Friday.....
I'm far to discerning to have a dirty doner, but I do like a Lamb Shish or a Lamb Shish / kofta combo but never have chips, just the pitta and salad (or one place does it wrapped in a Naan which is awesome but less healthy (and its hygiene rating is questionable but that's an aside) but my colleague swears by a chicken Shish kebab and chips- he says the chips are essential.

Kebabs around £7 down here, £9-10 for a mixed one or a large one

This thread reminds me so much of these two...

"Battered veg, spicy jam, two lager shandies, eleven pound forty. The dirty, evil, robbin' barstards. This were in Leeds".

currently troughing a filthy doner... £4.50. :okay: If I'd splashed out on a kofte it'd cost £5.50. Ado's special mixed kebab is around £9

in other news, a bloke at work got charged £13 for 2 pints of Estrella lager in a local eatery, which eclipses my £5.10 for a pint of Moretti in an uptown pub.

My father in law from Lancashire often exclaims " 'ow much?" when buying his round with us in Bristol. Conversely we were up in Preston and I was saying the same thing but with the opposite implication when I got change from a fiver after buying a pint and a glass of wine.

£8.80 in a caff in Old Street, Laandan this week. Pricey by Derbyshire standards (and the sausages were poor quality)

the full English is getting gentrified... I didn't get much change out of £7 in Manchester last week, and that was one of the cheaper places
