We at next door to Rovers Accrington have an equally useless manager, who needs to go, if not now then when the season ends!! If Accy stay in the Football League it won't be through their own efforts, more the total failings of the 2 clubs below them! They were saying on Radio Lancashire that Accy possibly need one more win from their last 5 matches to stay in the Football League. Carlisle look doomed and Morecambe have a supposed difficult last 5 matches. If Stanley sack their current manager then we should welcome back John and Jimmy asap! I think Accy will dismiss their current manager when the season ends, opening the door for the return of John and Jimmy, providing Blackburn haven't employed them already!! :okay:

Sack that so called manager now and don't give him a penny in wages etc for the rest of his contract! This business of managers being crap yet getting millions or whatever till the end of their contact, when they've been fired months or years before has to end! If I'd employed him I'd say "You're being dismissed immediately for breach of contract, without a penny in compensation, wages, bonuses etc etc! You broke the contact by being so crap that you have shown to have no intention of winning a football match, which is what you are employed to do! You can even sue me, but be warned I/we will counter sue which could cost you millions! The door is over there, close it on the way out"!!! Fire him now and employ former Accrington management team John Coleman and Jimmy Bell on a short term contact till the end of the season. They know how to deal with lazy players who think they are much better than they actually are. They do not let players take the piss! Rovers aren't going up or going down, so what is there to lose! If it didn't work out then fair enough, they weren't up to the job, but one things certain they'll give it 100 percent, which is 99 percent more than that useless idiot who's lost 5 games and drawn one, since some idiot decided to employ him has given!!

So you know nothing about contract law then.

No football club would pay until the end of the contract unless said contract required it. The only way to end that is to not create contracts which include it in the first place.

I don't know how long his contract is for. Maybe it's just till the end of the season which every Rovers fan I've spoken to is hoping to be the case! Even some long term die hards are thinking about not renewing their season tickets, seeing how next season goes, maybe picking games to watch. As long as they have a decent manager in charge that is!

There is more than one team with the Rovers suffix. Please specify. While everyone in your neck of the woods might know who you mean, you are posting on a global forum. I suspect "Rovers" refers to a completely different team round here.

Whoa. That's a little harsh. In English football we have Bristol Rovers and Blackburn Rovers. Accy lives in Accrington, Lancashire which is 6 miles from Ewood. Bristol is adjacent to Gloucestershire. I guess Bristol Rovers will be Rovers in your area.

Rovers are Rovers, just as City are City, United are United. Boro are Boro. No Rover* would ever refer to Blackburn or Blackburn Rovers.

In the same manner we never, or very rarely, talk about Ewood Park. We play at Ewood. *I'm not a fan/supporter, I'm a Rover......or very locally a blue.

That's just how it is.......and it isn't a suffix.

Blackburn Rovers are the most well known Rovers in the the UK and in the world for that matter. Like Manchester United are the ones you think of when United is mentioned! :okay:

Theres only one Aston Villa ! 😂

Accrington Stanley were formed after Accrington FC and Accrington Villa merged in a meeting of both clubs, in a working Men's Club on Stanley Street in the town. :okay:

Aren't Tranmere a 'Rovers' ?
I have been known to be wrong in the past.

Doncaster as well. I was once in Doncaster and talking to a hospital worker who was going to see his team, "United" that night. I took him on a tour of England until we identified the one he meant. It is a total arrogance to say the suffix like there can't be anyone else.

@PaulB @Dave7 you are both quite right. I only mentioned Bristol Rovers as they're close to Gloucestershire, where the original poster is from. I think I'd go along with Accy when he says most people would know Rovers are Blackburn Rovers just as United are Manchester United..........I'm not sure we're world famous though..................not yet anyway!!!

I'm not sure about that. It might irritate other fans but there can be no doubt the world knows United as United.
