The BBC write up of the Rangers match is so over the top it made me giggle:

I do a bit of sports writing on the side and worked really hard to produce an unbiased account of how we thundered into the last 16.

McGill is a relatively new writer I believe. Hopefully he'll settle, because his bole of hyper is already at the scraping stage for me.

Only seen highlights but it seemed a great game. Although I was vaguely hacked off that when asked for comment (again by the Beeb) McInnes was referred to as a "former Rangers player". That always happens though, and I wish I could let it slide but it's tricky.

Who do you fancy in the last 16?

Yeah I hear you, especially as for me he will always be the former Aberdeen manager and belongs nowhere near a Rangers game, commentary or otherwise.

Not that fussed about who we draw, but would probably prefer to miss the champions league teams dropping down, although that doesn't always work the way you would expect.

More interested in Sunday now.

It's so weird. The joys of fitba I guess.

I think it'll be close on Sunday, but good luck.

You forgot Brighton? @Accy cyclist.
Four british teams in the Europa league last 16 is a great achievement.
The rule about having two bites at the cherry in which if you finish third in your group you drop down to the next lower competition is utter nonsense(imo).
It's not the clubs fault though just another crazy rule made up by EUFA.

Heck, that's the 2nd time in a day I've mentioned clubs but forgot about others! There's a new bloke started in the local Tesco from Devon. I asked if he watched/supported Plymouth or Exeter. He said neither as he likes rugby union and follows Exeter Chiefs. On the way out it hit me that I forgot to mention Torquay United!

Worrying news about Luton captain Tom Lockyer.

Everton are now six points clear of the relegation zone and look to be on a roll which will almost certainly secure their PL survival next year.

It shows the nonsense of a ten point deduction for breaching the fair play rules. Man City would probably still finish top four and a get a Champions League spot with a similar penalty. Surely this offence should be automatic relegation as the points deduction just means finishing a few places lower for most clubs, few will suffer relegation or lose a title.

And yes, I know some people think Everton's punishment was unfair, but that's another matter.

I think a lot depends on the "status" of the club involved. Everton should be grateful they are not Swindon Town, but hey Swindon weren't one of the "big boys"
