Deep fry your schnitzel, we're gonna deep fry your schnitzel

 Now the pressure is off , id like us to now go and win our last two games . However I’m guessing the manager may play different players for last two games .

I'd be surprised. Clarke isn't much of a tinkerer and I'd imagine will want to keep the side as together as possible to try and win the group for a favourable seeding at the tournament.

absolutely, a top seeding in the main draw would make a massive difference and I think the seedings are based on qualifying tournament record alone, not FIFA rankings etc so IF they could pip Spain for top spot....even if they end up 2nd a good second place you want to be ranked as high as you can in the 2nd placed teams to get a better draw / pot.

Yes, it is based on qualifying performance.

There will be 4 pots, each containing 6 teams (the first only has 5 qualifiers as Germany are automatically in that pot), so given there are 10 qualifying groups providing 20 teams, it could make a big difference - the best 2nd placed team will be in pot 2, while the worst three will be in pot 4 along with the teams who get there via playoffs.

The playoffs, BTW will start with 12 teams, based on their Nations League performances, not on their qualifying performances.

What with qualifying, the cricket and the rugby I'd forgotten we were playing a friendly against France tonight. Clarke is using this to rotate the squad which is exactly what I'd expect, we'll get a doing I suspect but it will be interesting to see how our squad players get on.

Nottingham is probably one of the few places you could put up a mural of the two teams most legendary managers without fans calling it a disgrace for featuring the other lots manager

very good win for England last night, that Bellingham lad is a hell of a player.

our issue is that however good we look in qualifying for tournaments, we seem to bottle it when we get to the sharp end of the knockout phase....

Not very well as it turns out, but that's hardly a surprise.

Was surprised to see England beat Italy, neither side looked all that great to be honest, Bellingham aside. He really is different class, and I reckon being out of the EPL spotlight is the best thing for him, especially as he's not getting kicked to bits every week by either the media or the opposition.

Might be a in with a good chance this time . The usual European sides are rebuilding , England might just be ahead of the curve now !

We were never really going to compete with them, despite previous experience.

Not exactly sure why we needed that game specifically but we can still bask in the comforting warm glow of success. :okay:

True, but we've played friendlies against pish teams before and it's got us nowhere. A hiding off France is in a weird way a good thing I guess?

All other surviving founder members except Villa, Everton and Stoke have passed the 5000 games. Notts would have been the first but then came relegation to the fifth tier.
