Yeah, Aberdeen have been particularly poor this season, which must be particularly galling for them, as the same could be said for Rangers. Its also 40 years since Aberdeens famous European Cup Winners victory over Real Madrid, but we are all trading off past victories. The same could be said for our cousins in the east, as both Hearts and Hibs fell below their own standard as well, although its a tough financial landscape in Scotland, especially trying to compete against Rangers and Celtic's clout. Obviously Celtic will be pleased with their endeavours this season, still on course for the treble and rivals Rangers left wondering where it all went wrong from being a penalty kick away from European glory last season, to a season we just need to forget. Probably St Mirren are the only team I can see that has made progress this season, and that's more to do with the fan ownership thing seemingly paying dividends now. Might be a model for the future right there.

It's hard to see much of a way out for the clubs below the big two as the financial imbalance is so great, and likely to remain so. With no offence to the likes of Aberdeen and Hearts they just do not have to pull to entice big money investors.

I find it quiet sad as Scotland has produced some world class footballers over the years but off the top of my head now I cannot think of one. Much more telling than the points difference is the difference in goals. Third place Dons are on minus one and the very best of the rest is Hearts on +5.

You can't be serious with this. Sourness, Dalglish, Law, McNeil, Hanson, Johnstone, Archibald, Bremner to name a few...........and not forgetting Colin Hendry and Charlie Mulgrew.......we loved you both.

Which of those is "now"?

He said there had been plenty in the past, but he cannot think of one now (meaning any current one).

They regain the title. The 1862 date being the fundamental issue although headed notepaper used in the 1880s gave 1860 as the year of foundation.

Hard luck Chesterfield, but it was nice to see Notts County win the play off final. They deserved to go up after winning 107 points and losing only 3 games.
