If Notts don't win them it will be an absolute travesty!
Indeed 23pts clear of 3rd and 36pts of 7th, and only 3 losses all season, it will be gutting if they don't make it.

Notts have only drawn with Boreham Wood this season. The Italians abandon the play offs when the second place side is so far ahead. Pity that does not apply here.
Interesting, what cut off do they set?

It’s tricky as everyone knows the rules at the start of the season.
You can’t really change them to suit a situation.
I’m still not a fan of the Rugby Union championship where the team who finishes top of the league isn’t the champion, they end up having to play a final deciding game. But the argument is it makes it more exciting and everyone knows the format when they start.
It should have been a straight forward final between Notts County and Chesterfield or just give it to Notts County for finishing second.I prefer the way they are done, definite advantage the higher up in the table you finish.

Neil Warnock aka ColinStrange fact about Notts County is they have only been promoted through the playoffs when, if the playoffs did not exist, they would have been promoted anyway. Both under Neil Warnock's management. In 1989/90 when the beat Bolton 18 pts behind and Tranmere 7 pts behind, and the following season beating Middlesbrough 11 pts behind and Brighton 10 pts behind
Neil Warnock aka Colin
That still makes me chuckle
he managed to keep Huddersfield up!
