Cracking a solo.
That helmet has an EN1078 certificate which is probably the same as your cheap Aldi one had. You should have got the one from the manufacturer that guarantees the best protection.you can’t be too careful

I wear a helmet in bed.It keeps me safe.(ooer)
Meant to ask (can't edit post) was it wall ground that you hit the most? Was it an impact, or did you scrape along it, or what?
it's a gamble even getting on a bike these days,
It's done it's job, time to replace. Even mandatory PPE has a limited life.I had a really bad fall off my bike last weekend. It was my own fault, I was daydreaming and drifted towards the side of the road where there was a wall. By the time I realised and my brain told me to correct myself, my bike hit the wall and knocked me sideways onto the road. I scraped the outside of my right thigh, cut my knee but, worse of all, I banged my head on the road – I shudder to think what would have happened if I hadn’t been wearing a helmet (the helmet I was wearing was a cheap one I had bought from Aldi). Anyway, the next day I went out and treated myself to a new helmet (you can’t be too careful) – this one:

...apply to crossing the road or walking down the stairs or going for a few pints? What helmet do you wear for these as they have similar or even greater likelihoods of head injuries?...you can’t be too careful...
It'll probably do more good on the bike than it would on your headGlad you are ok @Glasgow44 Sorry about my post...I was in a silly mood and yes I do wear a helmet on the bike.
There's a risk associated with riding a bike, on the road, of a type, and at a level isn't there with the other activities you ( helpfully ) highlighted. The fact that the risk isn't always realised, doesn't mean it isn't there, and needs mitigating. A lid, is the easiest way to mitigate the risk. The fact that the risk is at least as high, driving a car, and is also realised more often, is due to the other parameters involved ( speed, duration, and frequency of encountering circumstances that lead to realisation of the risk) is not anything to do with the risk assessment of bicycle riding, so shouldn't ever be used as an argument on a CYCLING forum. It would be far more at home on a DRIVING forum. Take the 'should helmets be used whilst driving a car' argument to a driving forum. Come back and tell us how you got on.Does...

Not sure I mentioned driving so not sure where you essay came from. Being drunk has a higher risk of head injuries than riding a bike. If we went to the pub, you had a few pints, I had coke. If you walked home you'd be more at risk of a head injury than me cycling home. There's a risk associated with riding a bike, on the road, of a type, and at a level isn't there with the other activities you ( helpfully ) highlighted.
