Back Lane, Hardingstone.. I've ridden past this numerous times and nit noticed it! The sun was at exactly the correct angle to cast a shadow across the mark ti spot it!

I had a similar experience with the light recently. I spotted this one at the back of St Margaret's Church (The Early Music Centre) on Navigation Road in York.

It's about there, on the north side of Back Lane.
Not sure what the 7 ft refers to, though.. 🤔

Some cut marks are quite weathered, especially around Hamtun as the local stone is quite soft and erodes easily.

I 'have all the time in the world' for Dolly, whilst not being a fan of her 'Rhinestone' era ('Jolene'/'9 to 5'/'I Will Always Love You'/etc...), I like her earlier recordings & the later Bluegrass influences
BUT... her philanthropy is what really raises her in my mind!
- 'DollyWood', where locals are employed
- College Funds, for kids where she was raised to attend College, who might not be able to afford to go otherwise
- the Book Funds

It's wrongly perceived by some locals to be the Hall itself, granted it was lived in for quite a few years (when the bay window was added?)

The Hall was demolished in the 1920s, but the stables were lived, into the (I understand) 1970s
I've seen this photograph in a local history book before, but (until now) never seen it online
Taken late 60's/early 70's?

This is possibly circa 1900-1910?
