If it had just been horrific - I’d have gotten started.
But it was / is even worse than that in Coastal Suffolkshire……

Had to Google that ,sounds unpleasant wishing you a speedy recovery and hope your back on the bike as soon as health allows

Not unpleasant as such, just slightly uncomfortable, I haven't even needed any painkillers. Still, having the flow restored makes up for any discomfort.

I'll keep an eye on these threads and may even post my rides once I'm back in the saddle if that's OK.

Three months off the bike sounds almost impossibly long. I hope you can find something that keeps you occupied physically over that period before you can return to cycling.

You could come and join us in the Lunacy Distance challenge in the spring if you want - most people post their qualifying rides in BST (between end March and end October). All you'd need to do is 13 rides at (or over) your self-defined target - and, if memory serves, you're out most Sunday mornings so that's a possibility for you for this year?

I hope it heals well, and quickly!

I am not quite in need of such intervention yet but the day is coming when I will be...

Speaking from personal experience - it is difficult! When I was ill in 2012/2013, I took 8 months to get back on my bike.

I wasn't thinking much about cycling for the first 4 months because just getting my lungs working again was what was needed.

The second 4 month period did really drag. I walked regularly to get some fitness back and spend time outdoors.

I was very happy to finally get back on the bike and cycle up onto the hills.

Unlike Suffolk it did stay dry in Leicestershire as I had arranged for the weather to pass so to allow me a lie in and go out later and for the rain to arrive in Suffolk just in time to thwart @Jon George attempt to be first to the post 😂
I will console myself with the idea that, perhaps, some time during your ride, you may have thought "I bet that bugger is already posting a ride whilst I'm still out here."

And away!
It was blinking cold, today (an extra layer of socks would have helped), but I've started yet another year. :okay: At least I saw a bit of sun in Suffolkshire. (I'm nicking that one @sevenfourate - I think it's great, buh!)

This at Foxhall.

Feel Free. Wasn't originally my idea - so i'd already stolen it from someone.

Congrats on the ride :okay: With how cold it is / what may be looming; and you now having gotten off the mark already - i already feel a slight build of pressure.

If its anything less than Life-threatening at the weekend; i'm riding !
