Pesky farmers, cluttering up the roads with the machines they use to produce our food. It's disgraceful.
Most, with machinery will actually be contractors. Cheaper get them in to do the job than do it your self.I don't think the OP's on about them being on the road, more like how they treat the road like they own it. Get out the way i'm coming through is how most of them act.
Sounds like a out of the village into the farmland then out into the countryside leg?.....in North Devon , at least where my step daughter lives. I have had enough of narrow, badly maintained , full of pot holes roads. Went for a ride today and every time you get to a bit of straight road and pick up speed, avoiding the pot holes as well, you come to a tight bend, you have to slow right down because you can't see what could be coming the other way otherwise it would be a head on and I would come out worst. I also met three tractors and had to make a full stop to let them through. All this is not my idea of cycling so next time we come down, the bike is staying at home.

Because the A30 isn't in North Devon? Why not ride on the A30 then?.........
Near Buckland Brewer.Lightweight!
I cycle around North Devon most days. It ain't that bad!
Where does your step daughter live?
The one horse town where the horse has died.Near Buckland Brewer.
I went to Cornwall once with the plan to cycle tour there for a couple of weeks. After 24 hours I had got so fed up of the hills that I headed east then north and finished my tour at John 0' GroatsSorry to hear you've not enjoyed it- similar roads to over the river in Cornwall, it does take time to learn to ride on these roads- rather like if I were dropped in the middle of a big city I would fall to pieces!
