.....in North Devon , at least where my step daughter lives. I have had enough of narrow, badly maintained , full of pot holes roads. Went for a ride today and every time you get to a bit of straight road and pick up speed, avoiding the pot holes as well, you come to a tight bend, you have to slow right down because you can't see what could be coming the other way otherwise it would be a head on and I would come out worst. I also met three tractors and had to make a full stop to let them through. All this is not my idea of cycling so next time we come down, the bike is staying at home.

We went to Dorset last year and the roads were terrifying to drive on, let alone cycle. Narrow twisting roads with huge great big high hedges making visibility virtually zero. I'm used to Yorkshire and the Peak District with dry stone walls, open fields and nice clear sight lines!
