Butter...........marg...........what is this stuff you speak of, I never touch the stuff, and YES I eat toast without it....yep I eat bread, toast everything without butter or margarine
I remember at school in the goodold days we used to go to the chippy at dinnertime. Next door was a bakers, we would get a crusty cob (morning roll, or insert your local name) and shove a thumb in the side and hollow it out.
Then stuff chips in until it's bulging and enjoy.
My mouth's watering now!
Me too...even to this day my favourite pudding is Millionaires Shortbread (caramel shortbread) with warm custard!!I always had school dinners. Wish we could have had that stuff
As sat nav and mo says line them up. Not only can you get more on, but it makes it neater and they are less likely to squish out of the bread, and of course I am also OCD about the chips thing.
And hold the sauce better!Chips should always be aligned
Crinkle cut are better as the serrations link together and secure the chiips in place
Deep fried Mars bar for afters?Me too...even to this day my favourite pudding is Millionaires Shortbread (caramel shortbread) with warm custard!!
Sometimes we'd walk to the chip shop - they would do a chip butty and a drink as a lunchtime special
Never had one thanks! <shudders>Deep fried Mars bar for afters?
And you survived?I had a fried pie once in Biggar.
The good thing about a chip barm is that usually they give you so many chips that you can open it up and scrape some off to eat separately.Chip butty or chip barm round our way (barm = barmcake = muffin = tea cake) depending on your location.
I will often deconstruct a chip barm bought from the chipperia & reconstruct with military precision.
