Yihaa, just ordered a Tacx Neo 2 thanks to a black friday deal
For a rider of your level it is perfect. There are now rides on Bigring that use the road feel. I say pave over those cobblestones.
I'm pretty sure @shimceltic has his wife make pastries and fancy coffee so he can get the realistic cafe stop as well as the road feel. I just hope he leaves a big tip.

2 years ago today I bought a round trip ticket from Seattle to Copenhagen for only $485. Because of Covid I still have the credit on British air. I am going to rebook but have to be home on June 8th because my wife has relatives visiting off a cruise ship.
My question is should I go in May when it looks drier or June when it looks a little warmer. I prefer cool weather generally but not too cold.

Thanks Andy. I saw last week he is the local legend on the Melby to LeisesJe segment.
On a separate note I tried your intermittent fasting for a week and put on weight. I was so hungry I overate.

. Hi Randy try not jump in with both feet, steady progression is the key

Intermittent fasting

The best way to ease yourself into it is delay breakfast by an hour each few days. When your eating breakfast at say 10-11am, then drop it completely. Try and consume as much calories in the same remaining two meals.

Then, when accustomed to two meals, reduce carbs but replace with fats, from nuts, protein, avocado, olives. Get carbs from fibrous vegetables (above ground vegetables)

This is the point where you transition from carb fuelling to body fat fuelling. I found at this point I became far less hungry. I stopped all snacking between meals.

From there its a steady progression to less carbs and more natural saturated fats.

To maintain weight I eat twice a day to lose weight I eat once a day. I dropped 4lbs this week from 3 days of one meal a day. I should lose another lb or two by Monday- hoping.

Never skip meals, your body will try harder to get everything from the remaining meals. It is even better to keep eating little meals during the day to keep your metabolism going. Just reduce the carbs and unsaturated fats and stop snacking. I lost 12kg doing so since april doing so.

I did read an article in a science magazine that the hunter gatherers in the Kalahari only burn 2000 calories a day even with their super active lifestyle. Evidently we In the west use as many calories using our brains for complex thinking.
That may be why I'm " husky". I just don't think enough...Right now I'm thinking about the left over pumpkin pie left over from yesterday's Thanksgiving dinner. Maybe ill add thinking about the whipped cream also.

I would go for June, but with the climate changes it might be warmer but also more wet, like you say. If you expect to ride early in the morning, it can be pretty cold in May, but I guess you are used to that in Alaska?

Another thing, the closer we get to summer the better the chances that no (new) COVID-restrictions are in effect. Currently we have only mild restrictions again. But with new variants, things can change quickly during the next few (winter) months, where the rates are inspected to rise.

I guess you like the Liv Tyler Arwen better than storm Arwen. Over here there's only mild winds, but it should be raining all day long. Not massive showers but just enough to keep you wet.
Had to Google that
I don't think I'll be riding if the powers is still off as getting sweaty and then sitting in a house with no heating or hot water isn't gonna be fun.

A little motivation on my dog walk today. Not everyone is asleep like they're supposed to be.
