Finally dumped my spd pedals and lace up shoes and went to the Wahoo powerlink zero and a real hq road shoe. Been interesting getting them dialed in with the float, but boa closures and shoe fit look to be helping my long distance foot pain. Need to carve out time for a 40+ mile jaunt and see how it goes.

I have the same pedals on my track bike. They do take a bit of getting used to don’t they. Speed play have a bit of a devoted following I think, and I’m not sure I fit into that camp. But being double sided I think they’re a good compromise between Road and MTB pedals. I’ve ended up adjusting them so they have as little float as possible but that’s personal preference of course.

One thing I learned the hard way is the plastic used to clip onto the pedal for charging is a bit flimsy. I managed to snap one of mine. Is still works just, but it’s not very robust.

Yes, I've been doing the same with the float as well, works good loose when in the saddle, but stand-up sprint or climb is weird with too much float for me. Biggest prob is one of my legs/foot points off center at a fairly large angle, so just try to get things lined up so I can get things aligned better for a pain free and good power setup.

I know what you mean. I had this issue where my heel was knocking the chainstay during the pedal stroke. I never had that problem with SPD-SL. I guess my right heel has a natural dispensation to go inwards. So I had to focus a little on correcting that. Then I wondered if the effort it took to keep my foot going through in a straight line was costing me energy… but I think with the clear set to zero float it’s not an issue.

I think you get used to the out of the saddle thing too. At first it feels a little un secure. But I think it takes more effort to unclip than your brain thinks it takes. So when you make peace with that you kind of adjust rather than worrying about having an unfortunate mishap! Again I questioned if it was extra effort. But I don’t think about it anymore so I must of got used to it. Personally I think the pay off of being able to use a road shoe and get double sided engagement is worth it. I do actually still prefer Shimano / look type cleats as they feel a bit more stable. But if you want / need double sided. Or have knee / other joint issues. I like the speedplay over an SPD cleat. Hopefully you get used to them soon then you prob won’t think about it again.

I haven’t shim, is it a training portal?

The racing league can’t start soon enough for me. I’m trapped between not cycling, and having zero motivation for it at the mo. I think having the organised races are going to be the only thing that can give me a kick start.

Yes 6pm UK time, a live session with coach and some chat in discord. Looks interesting

OK, I updated BKool as I was forced onto the latest version which was only 10 hours old. BKool app finds all my devices, but refuses to connect with message saying BLE and ANT antenna not found. Both Rouvy and RTG work perfectly and I can switch back and forth between them without any issues. BKool app will not connect the found devices no matter what I try. If I manage to get it running I'll let you know, but for now it it's going to be Rouvy or RTG as I can't take any more brain damage from the highly buggy software.

Just tried it on my new sim computer. It seemed to work as normal with my KICKR6. Only rode like 1 minute.

However, I tried to launch the program 2 times more, and it force quit to the desktop. But I think that is because I’m still experimenting with undervolting and stuff, to get it running as cool and efficient as possible. Watts saved is money spared!

It's weird, every other cycling platform works perfectly. Just BKool refusing to acknowledge the devices it discovered. If I delete the devices it finds them easily and then displays error about ANT+ and BLE. I've so enjoyed the RTG and Rouvy relative bug free experiences that it's going to be tough going back.

I have not been using BKOOL much since end of last season, but the Danish league riders are doing some initial events, and I don’t see an excessive amount of complaints as of yet. Searching by user might still not work - sigh!

I’m going to brush the cobwebs off my turbo trainer today and have a go on both Bkool and rouvy to make sure all is good. Assuming I don’t get mauled by a recently evicted giant spider colony I’ll let you know how it goes.

I'm not able run BKool until support helps me get it working. Rouvy and RTG fine though so at least I can try to keep the legs turning.
