I like to take a dioralyte tablet after races. ‘Like’ is probably the wrong word… they’re not high on the tasty charts to say the least! But they stop me feeling dehydrated, and reduce the involuntary 3 o’clock Irish jig to a minimum most nights. A friend who used to ride on here @kipster, swears by apricots on long rides. I’m intrigued to see how that one plays out Barbes 😄

I necked a 3 year out of date gel out of desperation once but got away with it. But I can confirm from bitter experience eating a curry 30 minutes before a race doesn’t end well…

Thanks for the company tonight Rod. Sneaky course wasn’t it? It looked kind of flat on the profile. But plenty of lumps. And none of them with any meaningful descent to rest on!

A curry on a real world ride might speed you up to get home...... Not on the turbo! I think unopened gels will still be the same 5 years after best before date could live in space on them...

Apricot roulette- like your style
rarely have anything to either eat or drink on a turbo ride - explains a lot I guess 🥺

Sorry @Barbes66, I discovered that I had forgotten to tuck a towel between the bottle cages, and sweat was dripping directly onto the crankset and Di2 shifter. Took 2 towels to find one that fitted, and by then you were well up the road!
I figured you would try and catch your own ghost when it started to fade, and I would not be able to follow you, so just took it easy for the remainder! :heat:

No worries Steen - I wondered if it was Chain Reaction at the door or something. Thought my ghost was going to catch me at the end there but I held on. That's a tough course - lots of lumps and no respite.

No Chain Reaction / Wiggle deliveries since Brexit…

Yes they won't post. I can get stuff from DeporVillage but need to be careful now with vat and import fees.

Yes, that is the reason why I don’t buy from the UK also. I know HIGH5 is manufactured in the UK and therefore not hit by the extra taxation, but everything else I don’t know… Muc-Off is an English brand right, but where is stuff they sell made?
