The challenge is set, see if you can do any better trying to keep up with Tommy. Good luck!

No chance without the draft....

Super effort up frontish it looked like. Craig had a great run there with a nice finish I could not quite catch.

Yep - good effort at the front. I managed to under-fuel again I think. Ran out of legs at 12km, managed to grab about 5 or 6 dried apricots which have probably been in the garage 2 years (we'll see how that plays out later) and they kicked in about 1km to go (sorry Jon - you definitely had me in your sights). Saturday anyone?

They will kick in at 3am also.....
Slightly longer rides needing a bit more fuel strategy. Ive been having a luchos dileto before rides with a high 5 electrolyte and hoping for the best.

I like to take a dioralyte tablet after races. ‘Like’ is probably the wrong word… they’re not high on the tasty charts to say the least! But they stop me feeling dehydrated, and reduce the involuntary 3 o’clock Irish jig to a minimum most nights. A friend who used to ride on here @kipster, swears by apricots on long rides. I’m intrigued to see how that one plays out Barbes 😄

I necked a 3 year out of date gel out of desperation once but got away with it. But I can confirm from bitter experience eating a curry 30 minutes before a race doesn’t end well…

Thanks for the company tonight Rod. Sneaky course wasn’t it? It looked kind of flat on the profile. But plenty of lumps. And none of them with any meaningful descent to rest on!
