Talking about girls, I spent the whole afternoon in a sewing machine shop looking at buying an embroidery machine for my daughter for a crazy sum of money.

Right next door was a bicycle shop and I kept trying not to think what the same money would buy in there ...
Fan of the sewing bee I take it? Dare I say I enjoyed that program when it was on. :girldance:

I was halfway on my goat ride tonight and realized I would finish under an hour and was congratulating myself when figured out I was on the wrong hill. I'll do the tough one tomorrow I guess.

Didn't think I would get anywhere near your time Bill, so I challenged Kipster, who I knew I could easily whup...(joke)!
Knew you had about a 7 minute lead on Kip, so when it started looking feasible, I put my foot down and tried to get 8 minutes on him. Which I did, but he must have had a strong finish or something because it wasn't enough.

Me whuped by the man with red and white arms

I had a little push towards the end (last three minutes or so) as I had a bit of energy left over. I keep saying that hills aren't m strong point, but I am getting better / they are getting easier. I do just tend to spin up them, keeping an eye on HR.

Lol! Yup, got proper farmers arms now, only mine aren't from leaning on Landrover window sills.
You must have done a few big pushes, because there was a couple of times when I was doing 320-350 Watts, and you were gaining on me. And you destroy me on flat and low incline stuff. I can't get anywhere near you.
I know it was a pretty reasonable time last night, but I must say it didn't feel good. Felt very rough afterwards, and for the last 10 minutes or so. I need to start exercising a little bit of common sense I think.

Hmmm, you may just be a tadge too competitive!

You've got to remember that Bill could be a teenage girl on an e-bike just winding you up ... :girl:

Or Bradley Wiggins having a laugh!

Geoff (or perhaps Steph?)
The fact that you are suggesting I might have been beaten by a teenage girl on a large, cumbersome e-bike, does little to suppress my feelings of abject defeat. I will continue to console myself with my self created image of Bill, as a huge and mighty Scotsman, with legs like tree trunks and adorned from head to foot with heavily sponsored bike gear....in fact, I feel slightly better already.

That sounds just like something I would do.
I’m now regarded, by my wife’s colleagues, as a retard, after her attempt to explain my dubious bike-adventures. All I did was turn up half an hour too late for a race, wondering where everybody was at. Determined not to be late again, the next time I then turned up one week too early…still wondering where everybody was at. Finally at a TT race I got the time right, but unfortunately not the route. It missed the very first right turn after 500 meters.

LOL. I think the one thing you have right there is the mightiness of my waistline compared to yours.

On the plus side for me is the potential to go from 76kg down to 70kg, not that it's likely as I don't have the will power when it comes to avoiding cakes and cheese.

edit. Had it been my ghost you chased up Izoard I'm sure your feelings of abject defeat would be those of triumphant success.

Geoff, The Velodrome (dummy) in my scheduled sessions list? Is that the one where we enter through Leagues tab and do a short 1 min session so you can modify it for the Chain Gang league for tonight's Velodrome session?
Thanks.

Yep, that's right.

So who's up for the Velodrome tonight? Should be fairly short, perhaps around 15-20 minutes or so to do 7.8 miles. :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:

I'll start the warm up at 7:00 and aim to start as usual with just under 2 minutes on the countdown.

I'll password protect the session, so you'll have to give the password to enter, which will be chat

If you use the advanced filter you'll have to look for Geoff or Velodrome as Velodrome sessions can't be associated with a league.

As Bill says, on the league tab you will find a Velodrome dummy session, if you just save an uncompleted session of around 1 minute I can use that to save your actual Velodrome times.

I'll be there as usual Geoff. I'm thinking of doing Col du Telegraphie first though, so could be rather knackered and looking for someone willing to be slipstreamed for most of the race.

I was also thinking of doing Telegraphe as well, but would prefer to do it afterwards. Unfortunately that would make it too late, so not sure what to do.

Its a difficult decision as earlier it'll also be a bit on the warm side. I'll probably start my warm up about 5 and finish a little before 6, giving me an hours rest in between.

Edit: In case you (or anyone else) fancy joining in.
