A bit of info for you - a cycling friend of mine came round to check out my Bkool today, so I let him have a go with my profile settings, he's approx 70kgs and very good on hills - however with my settings he could hardly pedal on anything above 9% incline. Just goes to show how the Bkool calculates my weight and adjusts accordingly.... As there's no way I can stay with him on the road.

Home from the club away day, cheddar gorge is harder in real life!

I bet the 16% bit is ... :bravo:

60 miles is a good run, hope the weather was kind.

I was thinking of giving the main climb a go on Sunday or Monday, but it will probably be heaving on a Bank Holiday! Would be good to grab a video some time.

I'm also tempted to try Exmoor Forest, will be quieter and would be interesting to try it back to back with the Virtual rides.

The weather was dry for all the climbs, but we had a little drizzle for about 10 minutes. I was really struggling on the climb out of Wookey Hole, well about after two miles of the climb https://www.strava.com/segments/843787. The wind really blows through the levels, made was some tough riding.

I'm kinda on a different agenda atm. I will try and fit them in, but desparately trying to build cadence and seated power. In a fairly small window of opportunity.

It is funny, I actually tried standing this evening on the Mountain Goat stage, and I'm getting a little better, but only did around a minute or so on two occasions.

Certainly seemed to help to keep the power up when the gradient got to 10% and I was finding it hard to turn the pedals on the KICKR.

Think I'm going to try my Merry Harriers standing from the bottom and see how far I get before I have to sit down, then keep repeating until I can stand the whole way (about 8 minutes I guess).

Messed up tonight, didn't realise the FTP session only lasted 20 minutes, anyway gone up one level - I swear Bkool think I'm Sir Chris Hoy... At 214 Ilbs I reckon I will struggle to get to active level.

Rick,

Congratulations on active level 3. 303 watts for half an hour. That must be the Celtic tiger I've heard about that chased you off the ride halfway up.
Thanks Randy. Most unexpected to be honest.

I had a bkool classic on 30 day trial initially but returned it to get the Elite RealTour instead. We now know that the realtour cannot generate resistance above 6%, but I also now recollect the feeling that I felt slower on the flat stuff just after starting out on it.

Seems that I may have been correct in that feeling as im now getting about 15 or 20 more watts out of the bkool pro overall. Happy days!! Plus now I'm really getting a workout on the hills!
