NATIONS CUP 2019!!

Guys, I've had a message from Jacob inviting us to once again put a British team into the Nations Cup - which will take place on 19th January ("in the afternoon Danish time")

I no longer subscribe to Bkool, having moved fully over to Zwift, and I will probably have got rid of my Bkool trainer by then as well, so unfortunately I won't be captaining the team or taking part this time.

It's a great, fun, challenging event to take part in so if anyone wants to take responsibility for putting a team together (& maybe setting up a qualification league like we did last year?) then let me know and I will let Jacob know and pass on your contact details. He has a Facebook Messenger group to communicate updates etc to team captains so he can add the appropriate person to that instead of me.

Good luck - I hope you guys do it and I'll definitely be cheering you along if you do!
Isn't this why we voted for Brexit? to get out of things like this and forge new wonderful cycling realtionships around the world with nations at our own level (and no offence intended) like Papua New Guinea. However, given the exit of most of last year's team we might struggle almost as much as the UK is going to even to run them a distant second! If selected I might give it a go, but have two weeks off the bike over Xmas and dont get back until 6/1/2019 so can see the wife upping the life insurance if I do take part!

I´ll be there, giving it my all, not much after a hard finish to last nights ride ITRW. Is it worse being humiliated by @AAAC 76C in person or his ghost ? Let's try and set decent times and then Saturday should be treal fun when we can try and hold on to his coat tails for real

He's definitely more effective in real virtual life rather than virtual ghost, but aren't we all... Humiliation is therefore at it's worst when being beaten by someone's ghost so I'm up for trying to go quick tonight if I can muster the energy.

I can’t do it Bill but thanks for thinking of me. I don’t have a Bkool pro anymore. In fact I won’t have a turbo at all until Christmas when my new one will hopefully turn up. I think you could put a team together. I saw on strava James Robinson was back in Bkool is he racing with you guys? Then yourself, Keith, aaac and DP or course. No offence if I’ve left someone out I’m not renowned for my memory! But I think that’s a really strong team right there. Bertybasset has a Bkool pro too and maybe some of the other splitters could come back? I had great fun both years and I’d definitely be around to cheer you guys on .
I'm not offended Tommy because I'm ineligible due to my nationality.

Sorry, Danish league ride tonight on a flat(ish) route. :wahhey: Will join you Saturday for the re-run.
I just got my travel for next week and I may not make it on time for the live race in Saturday. Flight leaves at 11am. I'll try to get it done early Saturday but without @Jim Brown and @shimceltic pushing me it won't be the high heart rate effort.
Go, go fighting Jimmies!

Sorry @BILL S sorry @perswe when the fairy dust settles on you, you have no option but to go for it. Congrats Bill on beating @AAAC 76C ghost. If it's any consolation I'm still pretty tired, I just went faster than usual!

Well that left me quite knackered and in awe of your performance Keith. I assumed you had fitted your Continental 4000s tyre and had it fully pumped and had found your rightful place in the lead. Even with a bit of fairy dust I think you have us well beat. No fairy dust for me today and don't think I ever saw 400w at any point today. Maybe just at the start and end.
If I can't draft your ghost on Saturday, looks like you'll have a good strong win in the league, however I'm not quite sure what AAAC has shoved up his sleeve, but I think he has something. ;)
