I’ll miss you all - but then I do still have all your ghosts.. :hello:

I have a poor tinterweb connection so don’t do video, and more than happy with my Bkool 3D. Due to the hours I work ive rarely participated in the 7pm rides as I’m almost half a bottle in by then, certainly a few tinnies... and as suggested in earlier posts, I ain’t in it to cross the line first.

Bkool is a flawed system and if they were asking for £150/year for it - I wouldn’t be with them long... but they’re not.

It will keep me entertained and fit throughout winter with varied routes, ghosts, leagues.. the options are huge.. and I will be happy.. (as long as they don’t fook up like last Christmas)...

I know I can’t average 25mph in the real world, I know I can’t cycle up mountains at 8+mph in the real world and I’m too frightened to descend at anything over 45mph these days.. non of that is important to me.

No one comes on here and says that the bike I’m riding is sh1t but there is a queue to tell me the sim I choose is..

I hope this winter brings some folk back and introduces more to Bkool. I hope Bkool improves its service consistency and if any of that happens... I’ll see you for the warm up in the drome..

By the way... did I mention the new leagues coming soon.. ? :giggle:

Well said mate. This is something I often come back to. Also would we of ever built this community around Zwift? Highly unlikely I think. We’d all be racing in different divisions, at different times most likely, and we wouldn’t of got to know each other so well. One thing i thought we might do further down the road is create a thread that goes beyond any one platform. And is a general chat thread where we can all come and talk bollocks. Maybe disband the splitter and Bkool thread altogether. It would be a real shame if anyone felt marginalised as I genuinely consider us to be a good group of friends.

Just been reading all the comments about Bkool vs Zwift etc. I agree with most of whats been said , Bkool was my first smart trainer and
using the Bkool Sim has been and still is great fun , I have used the both video rides and 3D rides , I have used Zwift as I said before
and found it quite chaotic with riders all over the place but after reading CXRAndy`s explanation of how it works , it sounds pretty good
so I`ll probably give it a go, BUT I`m not running Bkool down because I think they have a great platform where in 3D mode you can choose
ghosts from previous rides for either racing or pacing , either your own ghost or a number of other riders ghost, also when you start a ride
other people can join in to make it competetive, and then there are the organised races you can set up with people you know, such as chaingang,
(even tho I didn`t make the chaingang rides myself) so I still think Bkool has a lot to offer, the down side to Bkool is the power accuracy,
which I`ve said before is so far out from real power readings, so for training purposes you have to keep power readings seperate from real
world cycle rides, another thing is the disadvantage of using other smart trainers with power meters against people with Bkool trainers.
I wish Bkool would look at whats happening to them, they have an amazing virtual cycling platform which could be one of the best if
they kept up with whats going on in virtual world and listened to the comments made by people who use/used Bkool for cycling.

You're a braver man than me - irw I'm on my breaks once I hit 30 mph :surrender:

Ok, I’ll have to come clean here.. truth is..there’s a drop called the Coulport descent where I’ve clocked 48.. and I know I can go faster.. my pb recorded speed is 56. I know I can do better down that road.. maybe I need to wait for the frosts?.
That is insane. At 56 mph a pebble equals a @berty bassett type shoulder mounted second head.

Re group races on Zwift there is a work around.
Last year for training for the worlds zsunr aet up rides/races off course using Zwift preferences.
So, we all logged on and into say Watopia having decided what course we would train/race on. Eg Watopia flat or whatever. We then rolled down to the start banner where we stopped and used discord to agree when all ready and then started. More of a rolling start than a balls out though that didn’t seem to impact on times/ training progress at all. It worked really well.

It would have to be a course different from the default, wouldn't it?
I remember doing that a few times and found myself almost alone.
Also found out that you need to switch back to default before racing again, or you'll find yourself being the only rider at the start grid.
