I have been using Bkool since 2014, and never had the need for an external powermeter, as I think most (hobby) Bkool Classic/Pro users have neither.

There is probably some technical (compatability) or business explanation behind that removal.

Are you sure it was there in earlier versions? I have never used version 1 of the simulator but started at V2.

I haven't used it myself but I seem to remember @LBHIFI said he missed the feature after a Bkool upgrade

If you select the power source, you will feel no changes in the resistance, turning your Neo into an oldschool dumb trainer.
Yep!

I read the Bsim manual after posting and it confirms what you said. And, choosing that option also means you can't take part in any leagues or challenges.

Oh well!

Struggled tonight big time!! Only managed a measly half hour. Bunged right up with hayfever, and still recovering from an overly decadent weekend meant I paid dearly for my mediocre efforts. If I turn up on the DD start line in the shape I was in tonight, I may as well drive the broom wagon, or stay in the hotel!

Or maybe my turbo trainer has just mended itself, and is now offering up the right resistance? If it's the latter....I'm f*cked!

The option to use a power meter to give bsim the power value and have the trainer do the resistance was there in V2, but only for a short time. I tried it, it was horrible.

Ultra realistic would be the best description IME. The power required for any riding was seemingly 50w+ more than riding on the trainer only values. Also the resistance was very on off no smoothing, even less than now.

I only tried it 3 or 4 times and then abandoned using it. It was too difficult/unrealistic to maintain a good cadence/speed. This was when my vectors were only reading 10-20w different, usually under, to bsim/classic power readings.

For the record I had a similar experience with the kickr in the velodrome on bsim the other day, this is with the kickr as a trainer not power meter. Power reading was very up and down, this may be down to me. However speed was also very up and down, no smoothing, no delay. It was like I kept putting on the brakes. All this was while I felt I was being fairly consistant with my pedalling.

Yes, it was there. I was looking forward to race with powermeter because I was tired of the inconsistency, but they removed it shortly after I got my first power meter, which was mid July 2016 .
I think it was only there for about 4 months. It was a typical bkool update to get it and another to lose it. I never could get it to work well for me.
