I agree Bert. I was hating myself for picking it the whole time, especially as Adam was taking a second out of me for every 10 :cursing:
To be fair, Adam probably had enough time to stop for a beer and sandwich and still beat me up that hill.
Just done stage 3 so you have a slow ghost to follow...

Hopefully mine will arrive before the DD, then it's beer and sandwiches stops for me every 10 miles .

Thanks DP. If I'm not very much mistaken I owe you an EOS from stage 1

If anyone wants to join, I'll be starting stage 3 at 6pm tonight.

Well that wasn't easy DP. I certainly couldn't pull away that's for sure, and if this is you after quite a break, I'm dreading you getting fit again.
I pulled away from @Daddy Pig as well on Stage 3.

Unfortunately, I pulled away in a backwards direction, storming home on my new Tacx Neo 5 minutes behind him.

Really enjoyed the ride and I'm very happy with the new turbo. Again, my power output was ok, I felt like I was getting a good workout and the ride felt more like a real world ride, but I understand now why people say you can't be properly competitive if you're not on a Bkool trainer.

Bsim detects both the Tacx trainer and a Tacx power meter (it may call it a power source), but you can only pair with one or the other. I paired with the trainer tonight, although I did select the Tacx power source at one point and Bsim warned me something along of the lines that it won't be able to properly control the trainer.

I've seen you can ride Zwift with a power meter if you don't have a smart trainer, so I presume this is the same thing, but I've never looked at it in any detail before. Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this. I was thinking of riding the stage again and choosing the power meter option just to see what difference there is.

If you select the power source, you will feel no changes in the resistance, turning your Neo into an oldschool dumb trainer.

This. ^^^^

Bkool a long time ago removed the feature of having a trainer and external power meter. A very stupid and retrograde step by Bkool. This effectively made Bkool a closed platform and discouraged users with non Bkool trainers to look elsewhere- and they did

I have been using Bkool since 2014, and never had the need for an external powermeter, as I think most (hobby) Bkool Classic/Pro users have neither.

There is probably some technical (compatability) or business explanation behind that removal.

Are you sure it was there in earlier versions? I have never used version 1 of the simulator but started at V2.
