It also works if you join the session part way through and choose to No to join the last rider, so you start from the beginning, as Adam and I have just practised. So you can watch the session or warm up elsewhere, then find the live session, check the time underway and join just as your handicap is reached, quickly select No so you start from the start line and your straight into the pedalling!

The advantages of doing it this way are just that you can pedal to warm up instead of sitting on the line for 30 minutes getting cold, and you can watch the start of the race if you want, before jumping in at the appropriate point!

I've been working on recording the 3D so we could perhaps grab the last 5 minutes, hopefully as everyone converges on the flamme rouge! It's tricky as recording the whole hour plus at a decent frame rate requires a lot of disk storage. Might just pop the iphone in the tripod and point it at the screen as usual!

Gawd, that was unrelentingly hard. Didn't help that I dropped the chain 3 times as I desperately changed down onto the 28. Only happens on the turbo. Weird. Bit miserable riding on my own too so will try to avoid that In future. Think I might be a bit spent for tomorrow night though!
Mucho respect to those of you who have posted such good times.

Anyone any idea what the Remote Control option in the new BSim is all about? I'm sure it wasn't mentioned in the release notes, perhaps it's for a future firmware update?

In some ways it's easier for those that can get it finished in less than an hour and a half, it takes real guts to slog it out for 2 hours, well done indeed... :okay:

Good to see the keyboard shortcuts for looking behind, eh Adam?

Yesterday we published an update for the Bkool Simulator.

This new version includes new camera angles in the 3D view. You can now change the camera configuration (on PC and Mac) by pressing the “v” key on your keyboard. Also by pressing “Space” the camera now changes to allow the rider to see behind.

Other changes:
- The ghosts are visible on the map view
- Opponents appear on video view

In the case your simulator hasn't updated, you can download the update here:

Totally agree with this. Big respect to the guys who slog it out and get to the top taking a bit longer. That's a bit longer of pain and suffering. I think the bottom line is the quicker it is the easier it is.

I see you also got to the top tonight Randy. Well done. Did you have any ghosts to race against?

The old adage, it doesn't get easier you just go faster seems to be very true! Having knocked nearly 20% off my time up my Merry Harriers it hurts just as much ... But it seems to be over a lot faster! This is quite an advantage.

Of course if I did it at the old speed it would be easier now!

It also helps to have churned out some of your monster climbs Bill, 8-10 minutes seems like a short climb now! :okay:

I started with you as a red circle in the video mode but you were zig zagging all over the road and then you gave up and I beat you by over 10 hours.
It is cool having ghosts in the video mode. This must have been the ride where you were just goofing around and quit after 10 minutes.

Good ride there Randy.
I got my hopes up about progress as I bore down on Bill only to remember he had an abortive ride.

Sorry about that slow distracting ghost. I don't know why it always attaches one of my ghosts to the ride when I'm setting up the league. Geoff, is it in the settings somewhere to switch off my ghost to stop it adding in the ones that did the ride prior to the league stage? Ghosts of the actual league rides are great to have of course and will be there when a rider is challenged.

It depends how you set up the Master League Session. I always do a full setup of the session to avoid any bots and ghosts, then on the details screen I set it to a Master League Session and select the league, so when it is scheduled it becomes the Master League Session.
