I have a picture in my mind of you rubbing your hands with glee and enthusiastically leaping aboard your bkool. I think I've had that mental picture before for some reason .
I think you can win it Adam but you'll have to dig deep. Its not an easy one and as Geoff says, after a while you just want to get to the end. If you beat me, which is quite likely, I doubt I'll try and get it back off you :rain:
Well I will certainly give it a shot. I fully appreciate I have the advantage going second, but without a decent pace man I would just cruise. I only truly perform if I have an achievable target in my sights. Elite Adam wouldn't work for me, he would just destroy me, but you are a perfect challenger for me to take on. You are just that bit naturally stronger and faster than me, which is perfect.
We shall have to try another Goat run together, Bill, at least I pushed you a bit until about halfway.
Rather strangely I'm looking forward to this one, but I wasn't in the right place earlier this evening, think my swim cooked me.

The whole bkool update whether BSIM software or firmware is a complete shambles in my opinion. I have never managed to get any update of any type from bkool. I have no problems with any other program. I can delete BSIM and re-install but I cannot get this update.
I get a message that says:

Error writing temporary file
make sure your temp folder is valid

Just spent the past hour googling and trying to get my temp folder fixed. Not looking good as I am no IT wizard.
And goodness knows why your computer is so averse to BKool! What are you using, a ZX81?

Don't worry Bill I get that on my main PC and have to uninstall and then reinstall, its fine on the laptop though so seems very random.

I'm not sure if there's an advantage going second or not. Perhaps a mental one because the opponent can help keep your mind occupied, but in reality I think its always good to ride your own race. Yeah, Elite Adam just got too good. If he stayed around Pro1 or 2 I'd have a fighting chance at least but as it is, No chance! Don't know if he's gone off to bigger and better leagues with guys he can get a good race off of, but no sign of him in the latest leagues. Yeah, see your point about having an achievable target to spur you on. I like to have that but don't need it. I'd definitely like to do another Goat Run with you. Probably it should have been this one as that hour and a half felt long and lonely.
Hope you enjoy the ride and look forward to hearing about it, if I don't get the chance to drop in and see for myself:cuppa:

Thanks Mark. I thought it was just me. I did end up uninstalling then re-installing so got round it that way. Wish I'd done that before delving into windows somewhat out of my comfort zone, but at least it's still working.

I had to uninstall and re-install on both my main PC and the laptop which I hitch up to the trainer.

I will probably have a shot at it tonight, once kids are in bed, so about 7:30'ish. Otherwise I only have tomorrow don't I?
Struggling to fit everything in atm!

That's good to know. I'll be looking out for you from 7:30. Yes, unfortunately the stages are a bit too close together but I'll definitely approve any rides that slip through a bit late. That was the case for one of the d'Huez rides so looks like it's possible to ride them slightly late, but of course it would have to be in your leagues tab for it to work and not sure exactly how long that remains an option.
If there's 2 of me there as ghosts make sure you ignore the slow one that gives up after about 10 mins. Hopefully just the one if you challenge from the league results.

Well I will certainly try and keep up with ever one is in the lead, and if he drops out, try and maintain the advantage on the other one! Sounds easy....but I am quite sure the reality is going to be very tough.
Still got this niggly hamstring problem, which is annoying. It shouldn't affect me on the bike, but I wish it would just 'do one'!
Reluctant to run until it stops pulling, but have got my first Tri coming up in a couple of weeks, and could really do with getting a few short runs in before then.

I wonder, can you challenge after the League session closes, and maybe get a late attempt in that way, I don't know.

In the mean time just get all the fitness you can from the bike as it'll have no bad effects on your hamstring. If necessary your Tri might even have to be your first run.

If I remember I'm going to try that to see how late it can be done.

A league session stays current until the day following the date it is marked to stop, around 10pm or so. Colle della Fauniera is dated until the 18th tomorrow, so should actually be current until late evening on the 19th.

Possibly if you challenge a result while it is a current stage, it may sit in your league tab for around 24 hours and allow you to submit a late session, but I can't be sure without trying it.

Adam, don't forget Thursday Chain Gang is your extra special flat stage, I know you wouldn't want to miss that!

Bill, one thing that may be useful for the Mountain Goat league ... although you cannot overlap leagues, you can overlap stages within a league.

So you could schedule each stage for say 10 days or more, but have a new stage each week and overlap a couple of days at each end.

That way, late comers could still submit a stage while the early birds can move on and get a time in on the next stage. Especially useful if someone is away for a week, as they get a chance to do one early and the other late.

Thanks Geoff. That's a good point and I'll probably start doing that in future.
