Something's odd about the avg. power calculation in my ride:

I'ts almost entirely at 300 watt and yet the avg. "in motion" watts are 258 watt, almost the same as "In total".
So we can't even rely on the avg. calculations?
I think we established a few handicap rides ago that it counts as "in motion" once the countdown gets to zero, even if you remain pedaling on the line waiting for your handicap time. So your average "in motion" watts will include the spinning on the line which will obviously bring the average down

Ahhh, I just had a short look at Bills ride and assumed that this could not possible be with the stand still time included :eek:.

Haha We really did Pete. Fortunately for me you waited for me at the top of that first Hill or I doubt I'd have caught you up again. Can't believe the difference my new tyre made. Seemed to be worth a hundred watts or a whole lot more in places. Looking forward to trying to stay with you blue guys on Thursday.
Yeah I thought I (we) had a better chance of staying in front of the rapid guys behind us if we stuck together - didn't fancy working alone for 3/4 of the ride ^_^

Do you think the tyre has made a big difference? What were you using before? I've always had GP400S IIs on mine apart from a short spell with a slick Zaffira Pro and I didn't find a noticeable difference with that.

It might not be just the tyre Bill - I had the opposite yesterday and lost 100 watts average vs a recent ride on the same course and I had the same tyre for both runs - which is the same tyre as you as well!

Time will soon tell. The tyre felt very different and I suspect its the tyre rather than fairy dust. I'm hoping it's the tyre anyway ;).

It was a Mavic Yksion that I had on before. I seem to remember it started out ok but it never wore down and never got hot/sticky so just left it on for ages. I probably should have changed it out 6 months ago.
And yeah, by waiting for me you hopefully speeded up both our times.

Previous league all finished and closed so the new one has just been set up and published.

Congratulations to @AAAC 76C & @peterob for their 1st and 2nd places in the Feb. league
As AAAC won :cycle:, he doesn't need to send his lady saddle collection to the winner. Pete obviously wanted it :cry:but will just have to try harder next year. :training:
Is that AAAC's collection of ladies saddles or his picture collection of ladies on saddles that occasionally get posted? ;)
