Tell me the secret (BTW, I'm only interested in the secret if I'm allowed to continue eating chocolate and cakes!)

At Christmas time  That is an effort worth at least 4 times up the Alpe d'Huez :notworthy:.
I've been averaging 8+ hours/150+ bkool miles of cycling a week for the last 3 weeks and I'm looking like getting near the same this week :wacko::crazy:. All of this is way over what I'd normally do, 5+ hrs/100+ bkool miles.

I just need to keep up the average and hopefully lose some more :okay:

@bugno FWIW I had an email off Bkool linking to a revised Bsim. Loaded OK with my McAfee set to no scans excluded. If you have emailed Bkool with your problem they should have responded with a similar link.

Of course now that it's working again I have no excuse for avoiding Virtual LeJoG.

Hi Dave,

Yes. Got that one but have been too much of a wimp to use it because I am very protective of my laptops.

But, after suffering with Zwift for 2-3 weeks I have decided to ignore security and just install it anyway.

Why you may ask ? I know Zwift is popular but I don't like it. My last ride was this evening. Well rested, I did 1h 8min and am completely depleted. According to Zwift I managed just 31km and 135W average. Granted, I am no "real life Bugno" but I know that is wrong and it is not the first time it has happened. On top of the shaky calibration I don't think there is a natural flow on the bike plus the rides are somewhat boring.

Therefore, I would like to take back everything negative I have ever said about Bkool. I am on my knees begging for forgiveness (it's that time of the year right?). Yes, the SW is clunky, yes, it's hard to understand why Bkool would make the user interface less appealing with a major SW upgrade, yes it sometimes crashed mid ride, yes there are random minor delays between the on-screen % numbers and what you feel from the trainer ... yes yes yes, but goddammit you are my Bkool and always will be.

Note: I am still way off cycling form and have gained 200 pounds over xmas. Thus, please refrain from sending emails - it hurts my ego.

Now you mention it my latest Win10 update kept failing on my laptop.
Uninstalled BSim amongst other dross, mainly stuff downloaded in the past 6 months, and the install went OK.
Still have not got the latest Win10 security updates to load but this could just be a coincidence.

Hi Bugno,
Hope you've had a merry Christmas. I've never used Zwift as I'm not really a competitive animal so don't really know what I'm missing. As for getting on to completing some more virtual LeJoG stages, my son came to visit over Christmas and one of his presents was a stinking cold complete with sore throat, racking cough and lack of sleep. Thanks Son, and all I got him was a scarf.
As for Bkool, I can never understand how improvements can sometime make things worse (I bet they're not the only ones guilty of that) It's a shame you can't stick to a previous version you are happy with. I had to stop using it a while back when an update caused ELITE trainers to give Superman like abilities. On the plus side I discovered this forum and BigRingVR whilst searching to see if others had the same problems.

Anyway wishing all a happy New Year and shedding of all those festive pounds.

Regards

Dave

if it was very hilly course then that isnt too bad - the hills would take your speed down and the downhill cripples the watts if you ease off a bit

True, Lee. We need to see the strava link, else its irrelevant. The only comment would be Bungo doesn't like Zwift, which is fairdooos
Compared to bkool (which has the interest of videos and a multitude of courses of varying types) zwift can be quite dull. What keeps me going on zwift are the challenges - whether it's yours or the climbing to get the tron bike. Races are ok but I prefer bkool races. Clearly bkool has its well documented problems but, if they ever sort those out (before they go bust!) they could be a real challenge to Zwift. I use both still, I enjoy bkool more, but I want that tron bike before I give up zwift

Zwift is also less friendly. The FB page for racing is testament to that. They take it all far too seriously and some of those guys need to get some perspective. Certainly never see riders helping each other in Zwift like we do in Bkool!

Zwift racing is just that, racing to win or place better.
Zwift social rides that Bob does and I've joined in are very much a club ride. I've not used the discord myself but by the amount of text messages flying around its a very much a friendly affair.
My last social ride the group encouraged a young pregnant women to hang with the pack and sent riders back regularly to pace her back in.

You should try them out Carl.

But you'll need to get pregnant first otherwise you'll get left behind.

Morning all. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Unfortunately I managed to get the norovirus on Christmas eve and spent the whole of it and Christmas day either on or in knelt in front of the can:cry:

Tried CG3 yesterday but was still too weak and had to give up after 10 mins (although it probably wasn't a good idea to try and hang with AAAAC and Bill ). I'll hopefuly finally have the new bike tomorrow and I'll give CG3 and CG4 a go then.

It's been the first Chrimbo I've managed to lose rather than gain a few pounds though.....I'll be ready to tackle Alpe d'Huez.
