What's this chaingang league all about? Does the bkool reduce the resistance when drafting?
Loads of fun and only ever so slightly competitive. To be honest I'm a bit doubtful as to whether the bkool reduces the resistance at all when drafting. If it does it's so tiny as to hardly notice it compared to the significant amount of drag reduction in the real world.

CycleChat Chain Gang League is the new name for the Thursday Night League. Group rides now Thursday 7pm and re-run Saturday 5pm, or do solo any other time of the week.

The Bkool simulator does seem to reduce the resistance when drafting, depending on the speed, particularly when close enough to get the "wind" lines effect at the top of the screen.

On steeper gradients it makes very little difference, as most of the resistance comes from gravity.

Thursday's Chain Gang is a quite long run, and it would make some sense for the pack to work together for the first hour or so to keep the fast boys in sight. Should increase average speeds all round, and there's plenty of time for a race over the last climb! :okay:

I'll go with either, I'm not in contention for anything in the goats, although I would like to complete more than 1 of the climbs. If there are three of us on the Chaingang ride, we could practice drafting, breakaways and sprinting.

not as crazy as you think, there are now 3 speeds of usb grade and lot puters have a mix for charging and data transfer. like 1 usb 1 port and 2 2's. something like that anyway...:reading:

Well, i have now tried 3 ports, usb extension lead and no extension lead.:cursing: Have also powered on and off just in case. Still no luck so have emailed Bkool to see if they have an other tips for success. Will report back. Need if sorted for Thursday just in case the resistance eases off a bit with the update!!

I've had all the same issues and tried all the same things. After emailing bkool they asked me to tell them if when I switched on the unit the light would come on solid or would blink once. I told them it just came on solid with no blinking. They have emailed back asking me to send the bkool report (from settings in bsim) and the date that I bought the trainer. I've sent this info to them today so I'm now intrigued to see what they will tell me next.

Hello fellow firmware update sufferers:

I have been getting timeout problems. I emailed Bkool and sent them a copy of my log report from the Bkool indoor. This was their response:

"Thanks for your message. Please wait for our upcoming Bkool Indoor release (before March 9th). Sorry for the inconvenience."

Fingers crossed this update sorts it out!
