I will be back in the league proper from Thursday. Work and family have kept me away for nearly 2 weeks now and I have at times felt like I was going a bit stir crazy. I see there is an update to 3.4 but it's taking an age to update even with a solid 100 meg connection and a usb extension lead from the PC which is just about touching the turbo.

If its taking an age you need to move the usb dongle so its all but touching under the green light. I had a dial in with Bkool last week and then said its the only way to get the data to pass efficiently via ant+ it took a minute if that so if going on and on try that.

Not sure I understand March Stage 4 Velodrome bit.

Velodrome sessions don't appear under the league tab (or at least didn't when we first set it up) so the time doesn't get recorded in the league.

So imagine if you do the Velodrome session for the league, and it takes you 20 minutes to complete all the laps, but the 20 minutes doesn't get added to your league time, just as the 25 minutes it takes me doesn't get added to mine, so you gain nothing by beating me by 5 minutes.

Now say you also did a small flat stage (Warm Up) just before or after the Velodrome session, but didn't complete it, quitting after just 2 minutes and saving your time. Your session will require acceptance by the moderator/admin as it is incomplete.

I then adjust your time by adding 18 minutes to make it 20 minutes, to match your Velodrome time.

I also adjust my time to make it 25 minutes, to match my Velodrome time. You therefore gain for the 5 minutes you beat me by in the Velodrome.

Anyone who does the dummy Warm Up session but doesn't do the Velodrome will have their time rejected, and be the same as those who do neither. They will get the slowest time + 5%, as they would for any stage missed.

So the Velodrome times are recorded in the League using the dummy stage.

Or at least, that's the theory ... it's very possible that Bkool will chuck a spanner in the works, but I thought it worth a try! :banghead:

haha Ditto. I'm sure it'll be explained in a way we understand nearer the time.

I might go up Los Olmos at 5 - 5.30 ish tomorrow.

I'll be looking to do something about 5pm tomorrow (off out for a curry later so need to finish and shower in time), might as well work off some of the calories in advance.

Happy to start with you, but won't be able to keep with you ...

You need to remove the USB extension lead, and ideally place your laptop itself, with the Ant+ dongle inserted, right next to the trainer, by the light. I had the same issues with an extension lead.

Los Olmos 7pm Monday night?

Shall I try and set it up? Unless anyone that knows what they are doing offers!

Sorry, just seen that RJH 10000 already offered to set up. Thx

Sounds good to me Geoff. I'll start off at 5pm and you can join the ride if that's ok with you? Anyone else also welcome:smile:

Hya,
Yep I did as suggested. Not easy because I use a PC not a laptop so had to hold them close together, not more than am inch apart. Tried 5 times before giving up. And that's in addition to trying the usb lead whose connection has been pretty much faultless in day to day use. So so frustrating too because I was setting it up for a 6-30 am session before work. Oh well ,will try again tomorrow!

Mmm, unlucky. But you are not alone. Just one last suggestion, I have just remembered, that, in an attempt to get the two pieces of hardware to communicate more effectively, I switched USB ports, and it DIDN'T work. So I tried putting my dongle back in the original port, and it worked just fine. I know it's a long shot, but are you using the same port as before? Or have you tried a different port if so?
I know it shouldn't make a difference, but all I can say is, it affected mine!

not as crazy as you think, there are now 3 speeds of usb grade and lot puters have a mix for charging and data transfer. like 1 usb 1 port and 2 2's. something like that anyway...:reading:
