Had a pop at CG1 and 2 tonight. Added @AAAC 76C and @Brusgaard ghosts for CG1 but not expecting to get anywhere near their time as only 2 seconds separated them. From the off they left me for dead and I had to pedal like I'd stole it to get back to them, after about 1km. Not to gain any advantage by drafting I tried to stay ahead of the ghosts. A couple of times they pulled past me and I had to work very hard to get back in front. With 1 km to go I was still ahead when AAAC passed me and let me by 1 second and I was 2 secs in front of Brusgard. Knowing there was only 2 mins diff I dug in deep to try and stay ahead of Brusgaard only to mistime the last little up. He caught me on the line and we had exactly the same time. Spooky. I almost fell off the bike and I was having breathing problems I worked so hard! :B) Seemed @AAAC 76C wasn't working too hard so I'm sure he'll improve on his time :notworthy:

I love those short, fast courses

Had a few minutes rest then did a gentle CG2. Didn't set the world on fire but hopefully set a nice ghost for others to chase :okay:

260+ watt 'gentle' ride.. - To think I knew you when you couldn't get over 5% slopes without blowing up.. now you're challenging @AAAC 76C

My, haven't you grown.. :notworthy:

Hmmm, didn't think I was pushing too hard as I was trying to keep my HR below 160 after how hard I pushed the first ride. Maybe I went harder than I thought .... w/kg was 3.2 which is about 'normal' for me on BKool. Anyways, there is a nice ghost to chase after now :okay:

Yes he's still here but I've not met him personally.
He's doing a great job though as the course keeps getting better and better.

Is he a friend of yours?

Met him once. His son worked with me on secondment from Carden Park for a short period when I took over a course in Leeds. Nice lad. We all kinda know of each other if that makes sense.

You must be a clever old soul to keep the courses looking so amazing. I'm not a golfer myself, but i can appreciate the work that goes into keeping the greens so beautiful.

I know what you mean.
Talking about Leeds and Yorkshire, our service department use to be in Bradford and I remember staying at the Midland Hotel and having a curry at Muntaz.
Now the only time I go to Yorkshire is to visit my Brother who lives in Heptonstall.

I've always been a fan of yellow colour for bikes :okay:
So have I.

My first proper bike (not the actual one, although I know where it is). 501 reynolds tubing. Upgraded to indexed 105 rear deraileur, used to ride it up Anerley Hill, Crystal Palace to work in West Dulwich.
Edit: IIRC it was a 52/42 chainset with a 5 (or maybe 6) speed cassette going out to 25 or 26 . Broke a chain riding up Gypsy Hill coming home from work one night :banghead:

He can corrcet me if I'm wrong, but I don't think @AAAC 76C . Even so, it is nice riding with the main man :notworthy:

I was in it initially as a tick over ride ready for Thursday so I had the idea of just matching Brusgaard but from in front.
In true Cyclechat style I threw in a few bots which sat well behind me until I sat up a bit waiting for our resident Dane to catch up.
The bots then got ahead of me and were getting in the way as two of them were the ones that help you (Lapdogs).
Anyway Brusgaard caught me up and we left all but one of the ghosts behind (Mr Smart).
I did put in a big dig from about 1 km out so you did well to stay with me as I was BKooling at 460 watts.
Got to say though that something is eating away at my va va voom.
I'm always tired in the mornings now and work is becoming a struggle to motivate myself.
On Sunday I was almost dropping off on the sofa at 10 am.
I fear my steep decline is starting.
Perhaps my coming three week holiday will recharge my batteries, with the only problem being the last but one day start with the end of an overnight back from Orlando so I have also booked off a jet lag day.
Then its back to work on Friday and knock off at 13:00 for the weekend (easy first day back reading e-mails)..
