Bkool trainers are the only ones that simulate inertia. Smart adjustments on slopes.
What does this actually mean? As far as I am aware there is no fancy mechanicals/electronics in the trainer to "simulate inertia".

Sounds like they still put all other trainers at a deliberate disadvantage in the simulator, which is hardly a positive!

So basically they've taken the existing Pro and painted it yellow?

I could snatch the wife's laptop but I need a more permanent solution. Currently investigating the best way to go: Win upgrade vs new pc. Think there's enough juice in the old Intel Core to justify an upgrade.

Also, weren't Microsoft given out free upgrades at some point? It may have stopped

@LBHIFI The free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 officially stopped around a year ago, but you can still upgrade if you need the Accessibility features. The need for these is not verified in any way, and since we are all getting on a bit I would say poor vision may be an acceptable excuse! ;)

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade

We are not restricting the upgrade offer to specific assistive technologies. If you use assistive technology on Windows, you are eligible for the upgrade offer.

If you do the free upgrade for accessibility reasons, it may well upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 10, but you should then be able to do a clean install of the 64-bit version of Windows 10, and it recognizes your Activation Profile (based on the hardware present) and gives you something called "Digital Activation", basically they have a database of activations and match your hardware against the free upgrade.

I haven't done a 64-bit install over a 32-bit activation yet, so I can't guarantee it will activate, but it seems likely and it should be worth a punt?

Early on was just tracking you and was going to pick up anyone who dropped off.
I saw Bill falling away so I joined him in pulling back and dropped him off with you.
However that could have been Bill dropping back for me and pacing me back, not sure which but for my part I thought I was dragging him back.

Surprisingly it was actually me dropping back to see if you needed any help, even though I thought you were probably just taking it easy (which you were). I was feeling stronger than usual so thought it's the least I could do after all the times you've helped me. Turned out you were just trying to get on with your recovery ride so you then helped me to catch back up with Bridgy and DP before dropping back off, at which point I realised you wanted to ride at your own pace. It's probably a good thing from my point of view that you helped me back to them as I wasn't sure I could do it on my own. Although I put in a fair effort for the ride I cant help but think I perhaps had a slight (extra) bkool super power last night as my watts seemed higher than usual for the effort.

Geoff,
I read your post earlier about weight loss and riding. Chapeau to you!
Have you thought about doing sub 2w rides with any of the riding groups on zwift? I find them good for recovery rides or simply to get miles in the legs. There are sub 1.5w group rides too. There are often more than a 100 people riding and a lot of banter over dischord. Perhaps not surprisingly, whilst many will be newcomers to riding and so riding to fitness many are also recovering from significant injury or similar. I would highyly recommend the Zsun or Pack rides , if you interested.

Thanks, but sorry to say, I tried Zwift and didn't like it, too much like a computer game, and not enough like a cycle ride! And not being able to ride all the different courses was limiting for me.

However, as a KICKR owner I did get frustrated with Bkool, especially when they took a year to fix the slowing to a halt on a decent while bkool users whizzed off at 40+ mph! The only saving grace to having to take a year off after my second stroke was that I missed most of that time. Now, of course, the idea of racing without exertion is a non starter, so it hardly matters.

I may try the trainer again come winter, but while I was having regular visual problems, exercising hard while staring at a back-lit screen was making me too anxious! I guess having provoked the second stroke on the trainer gave too strong a negative association!

I do have a few anxious moments after a hard ride outside, but so far no problems which couldn't be put down to possible coincidence.

Hopefully as time passes I'll get more confidence... :okay:

I suppose one of us should find out how to set up a closed race or race series for the CC gang?

I think it is accepted that bkool pro/classics have an advantage in Zwift not least because unlike most other trainers they cannot be calibrated. I think such advantage as there is falls away as the gradient increases. I can say I wouldn't be fussed about an advantage if it brought us together to race at least for the CC bkool guys to try it out properly. Your TT's could always use a PM.
When I've used my bkool trainer in a race it was impossible to draft or stay in a group.
One moment you pedal through mud and the next it's 800 watts plus.
Bkool trainers cannot race in a group with other type trainers.
And I'm Mario's cousin and whorty has already claimed the fast Luigi
