Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but would like to join the bkool chain gang (Bkool Name Mark Mc), not joined any other leagues and thought this is a good way to stay motivated on the trainer

Thanks

It's the right place Mark and you're now in the Chain Gang.

Also, I've taken the liberty of adding @bridgy @Whorty & @AAAC 76C to the admins as the other admins don't seem to be with us much anymore.

Now I have to learn how to admin.
Will I need a Secretary?

This young lady will do:

I saw Runar rode from Oslo to Paris in 9 days. Huge 130 mile plus days . Very impressive. Congratulations @Norseman !

It is starting to dawn on me that we weren't suppose to do all Madeleine :-)

But it is getting dark and cold in Norway, so I'll be more active on the Bkool the next 6 months. I have signed up for a bike ride from Oslo to Paris (1700 km) in 9 days next year to watch the last day of TdF, so I'd better continue the training.

So 120 rounds in the velodrome and then 30 seconds on the Madeleine it is...

Giving the Bkool some credit!

@AAAC 76C - you still up for having another shot at SC3 tomorrow? If so, what time suits you? Just need to plan around my day (and a potentially dramatic end of the TDF!)

Do you use a spacer to take your asthma inhalers? You should use your blue inhaler 10 mins before using preventative inhaler as this will help get it further into your lungs.
I did this for a while. Gave me wicked headaches. I was left with a choice. Skip the inhaler and cough up a lung once I was done riding or ride with a splitting headache. I took the former and threw the damn inhaler away.

For 20+ years the ritual was to spend a few weeks in the spring being miserable after each ride (think doubled over hacking up all kinds of disgusting crud for hours after a hard ride). I hacked like a long term smoker. It was awful. However, once I got enough hard rides in things would clear up and I'd be good until the next spring.

I haven't had any major problems the last couple years. I can only hazard a guess that keeping up the winter riding on the turbo somehow keeps the pipes clean and prevents spasms. There may also be some improvements due to living in the foothills and avoiding the temperature inversions that trap pollution down in the valley and ultimately sear your lungs.
