@AAAC 76C the messages on the bkool screen are WAY too small and on screen for WAY too little time for my dodgy ageing eyes!

I did just about manage to read your message saying "big watts" which may have been true then but my time is definitely beatable as I had died a few deaths in the middle of the stage, but I did dig in and get a second wind towards the end

Strange ride that one @AAAC 76C . Following your ghost seemed far too easy considering the watts you were putting out. Must be because you were in ERG mode so you went slower for the power output compared to normal. Also it was very hard to stay in your draft as it felt like you were speeding up and slowing down all the time.
Not a bad ride for me though as it was hot in my loft so it was good to take it fairly easy. I still thought the end would be tough because I know you went up to 440w average for the end section but even that didn't seem hard to stay with you.

@BILL S I watched you for quite a bit and agree with what you said. In ERG you have no control over your speed and I think the SW defaults back to the immediate affects of gradient change so I was in a way a) disappointed not to have set a good pacer b) cheesed of at how much effort I put into doing that c) watching @bridgy I probably need to do that again.

Meanwhile see my next post for what happened in SC2

Having completed SC 2 I can see where some of those odd stats and times came from.
As I lined up at the start I noticed the like of Museeuw and ManyanaGDO were on the grid so I thought I was in for a fight.
Sure enough us three went quickly to the fore and it looked like I was in for almost 30 km of chasing downhill (I hate that pushing against nowt stuff) and having to claw back going up knackering myself before the next down.
As it happens these two guys are my weight or lighter so that was not going to happen.
Anyway at point 1 below I dead stopped and they both disappeared in to the blue yonder (I thought)
My dead stop seemed to last ages until I catapulted back to them and beyond like superman.
The at point 2 my watts were reading about 250 and I was flying along so just at the end of that power flat I switched my turbo off and on again to reset it and the power reading shot up again. Had I left it I felt that I could have completed the stage just as quick but with a very low power average.
Then at the second point 1 (which should have been 3) the power go stuck again but with no impact on speed.
Then for the rest of the session I seemed to be able to keep an unbelievable high power other than skipping over that small climb at point 4 at a lower power reading again.
In summary this sessions appear to be very buggy, something we have seen in the past
So sorry Museeuw, I don't ake the credit for my performance and would be happy for you to cry fowl to bring this to the attention of BKool but I don't want to do it again.

@Whorty
What happened to you tonight?
Breathing problems I'm afraid. i took my meds before riding but must have been high pollen count today and had a slight asthma attack. Tried to ride it easy but had to bail in the end. I'll try again over the next few days if I can get my chest sorted.

The amatuer Hugo in your race was alternating between 250 and 25.000 watts, (avg. above 1000watts) when he caught up to you and Museeuw in the beginning of the race. Now that's buggy! First time I've seen a "BKOOL One" on the rankings though.... He ended 26 overall...

Oh, and congratulations on winning AGAIN this week! :boxing::notworthy:

Do you use a spacer to take your asthma inhalers? You should use your blue inhaler 10 mins before using preventative inhaler as this will help get it further into your lungs.

Sure it's not dust from all the chalk paintwork you did during my ride? Thanks, even though I didn't get to read it all, as Museeuw was also painting a lot. I tried to stay focused on the percentages and keeping my RPMs around the 100. :okay:

My average RM has been dropping a bit.
I used to do quite a lot of mountain descending at about 105 rpm over 20 minutes and it improved my ability to hit watts descending so the lack of this training is probably why I suffer more on downhill stages.

I have some tablets I take 2 hours before exercise. Shouldn't need the blue inhaler doc says, but I did today. One of those things. Previously I'd have ridden through it but after what I experienced on the dd I took sensible decision and bailed today. I live to fight another day :okay:

Thanks for that but I don't feel like a winner because the ride did not feel or look right which is probably why I am towards that small group who have averaged 55 kph or close on this stage.

I see we have the Titan Dessert on the menu again in a couple of weeks and not long after Milan Sanremo.
