Well, Cav was already on his way down before that elbow came out... I don't even think the elbow touched Cav. I would say it's a normal reflex if you get hit from behind, like Cav did to Sagan, trying to go past him, when there just wasn't room!

Definitely looks like Sagan came across and took Cav out to me

Well done AAAC - I was hoping to stay with you and work together but I just wasn't strong enough. Even with a little help from your ghost @Daddy Pig I couldn't stay with you either - couldn't even beat my own ghost at the end actually!!

Really, I think your time was better as I was only 10 seconds in front of your SC ghost and I'm pretty sure you left me well behind. What was your time?

Watch the overhead (borrowed from steephill), not as clearcut as everyone thinks. Sagan did hit Cav, but not with the elbow from what I can make out. More like hip to shoulder/side and that put Cav over.

Oh well it was 15.34 so that ghost of mine I was fighting with must have been one of my rides from last winter - didn't think of that! Bit happier about that now!

Yes, he came across. They ALL did. Everyone except one crosses the stripe in the middle of the road, and Greipel is about to crash as well because of it. Lucky for him there was room on the left for him to avoid it. Sprinters cutting left and right is normal, and if Cav really felt he was without fault, I'm pretty sure he would be outloud blunt about it!

No one has come out it good, except maybe the sport. Getting too rough in the sprints needs to be stopped, serious injuries are becoming too common.

Cav had Demare's wheel and showed he had the pace to go past Sagan. Sagan wanted Demares wheel and was willing to squeeze a rider onto the rail to get it... it was a d!ck move. The elbow isn't all the relevant really in my opinion. The damage was already done.

Normal is a funny word for me Brusgaard, and one sociologists have lots of fun with! What is normal? How do we decide what is normal? And how do we change it? Maybe if someone dies (yes this is possible when traveling at 40mph in a bike). Personally I think theres a line between pushing someone sideways to pushing them into the fence.

Honestly I don't think the debate is whether Sagan rode dangerously or not. It's just was the punishment too strong.

I need to remember to keep you behind me on a bkool sprint finish!

Okay, maybe "normal" isn't the right word, but it happens so often, you'll have to take it into account, if you want to do the sprint. As said, the whole bunch moved to the right, and Cav tried going a bit too much to the right and probably hit Sagan leg with his foot or something.

Agree on the punishment being too strong. The original "preliminary" punishment would have been enough to ruin Sagans goal for the tour.
