I can't remember who won that day other than it was more like a team time trial with a race for the line at the end.

Which one of us guys from the AAAC would you be then?

Trying to remember the whole Team from Major Eddie's Tea Room (Quote CSM Joe Wells)
Westy. (D Coy.)
Dave Moore (A Coy.)
Ian Herd (B Coy?,)
Rocky Marshall (D Coy)
Me (D Coy)
Leapy Lea? (? Coy) (Not 76c though)
Clint ... (? Coy) (Senior by then I think)
Gaz Bowers (D Coy) (Also a Senior I think)

I remember we dropped everyone pretty quickly after what's his name Hunt from Harrogate punctured so we just went full gas for the whole race as a TTT.
I think that was the day L Col Keast came to watch. I remember him standing on the bend at the top of the long drag up to the top of the circuit.
The next year I raced in the Senior race and came second to an Apprentice from Chepstow who as it happened was a good mate of Woody from A Company.
Shearing I think his name was.
I could of won but I waited for him as I had dropped him on the very short sharp climb around the corner after the long drag up.
I felt some odd form of duty to sprint it out as we did a two up break from lap 2 and left all of the 'old boys' standing.

Hi,
You have a good memory, weren't you in the Ashford Wheelers before you joined up?
Dave Moore from A coy. I have a photo I shall dig out. You are at one end with your black road bike and I am at the other with my Shorter.
I remember we did a couple of Army 2 ups one weekend on the A4 and won both, About 25.00 for the 10 and 1-03 for the 25.
Keep in touch

Giro -wow. No more comments till AAAC has seen the race today

No Euro channels out here so I'm completely missing it...

I've been quite restrained today. I didn't have my first drink until lunchtime! For the records I got my weight down to 83kg before my Caribbean adventure. I don't think I'll be weighing myself again anytime soon on my return...

But to be fair I've got nothing on some of the Americans out here. One guy had a plate of food stacked so high at breakfast I'm suprised it didn't need planning permission. It really was a multi levelled marvel

That is some weight loss Tommy:okay:

Have you lost some power? I suppose as long as power loss isn't too great then it all good:notworthy:

Steep hill TV. Does short replays of the last few kilometres upto 15k or so, plus all the results

Talking weight... bang on 73kg today. Getting closer to Ventoux weight. Though 3 beers so far tonight and a curry may take that up a bit!

You should consider it part of an efficient diet. Here is the logic:

1) Curry increases body temperature so the body has to work = you lose weight

2) Cold beer: body has to spend energy to raise the temperature = you lose weight.

Seen it now cheers.
Shame they were showing the gaps from the Pink Jersey and not from the head of the race.
I was beginning to bite my nails as it looked like an amazing come back in the making all be it we were no seeing it.
Chapeau for getting back on a having a go though.
Looking at the aerial shots it was not all down to the Police Moto, I didn't see a lot of warnings being passed down the pack so the guy that hit him, Mollema I believe, had no idea he was there until the guy in front of him passed the Moto.
