cheers Adam not got a caravan or tent I was all set for driving up but now its getting close doesn't seam like a good idea ill have a look for some where even if its only for the night before

Rob I'm not 100% sure but I think Randy may have had a room reserved at the metropole. If so maybe he could transfer it to you.

Pasta and chicken sounds sensible! I'll speak to him this week. Just need numbers really. He also said if I let him know who is in the group, he will put all those staying at the Met, on the same floor.

Hi Adam that sounds great thanks for helping to organise. There is a list of attendees in the other thread but it wouldn't hurt to have a more up to one here. So I'll start it off by saying,

I'll be there and I'm staying at the metropole.

@rob01792 Yes I did but I canceled it on 4/1/2017 when I found out I wasn't able to go this year. I had arrival on the 27th and checking out on the 29th.

It is a huge disappointment. I have some training I need in Texas that I can't skip. I'm planning on 2018.

Not sure. Haven't been on my bike for about 5 months, if I was crazy enough to have a go, it would be the 60 miler and that would be a real test. As I say though, if I don't ride it, I'll drive support with extra food and drinks, and with a 4 bike carrier on the roof, I can always give Whorty and 3 others a lift to the pub, when they've had enough.

I didn't know there was so much pub involved... the perfect Sportive.. I may make the journey south next year if pubs are involved.. all the talk of 100+ miles, hills and energy snacks put me off..

Pub and carb ps night before
60 mile cycle with pub feeding station
Pub afterwards to debate cycling stories..

It's a very early start, and you'll miss out on the meet and greet and the after event bragging piss up! There's a couple staying at my sister-in-laws campsite if you have a caravan or are brave enough to camp! Pretty sure the Metropole is fully booked now!

I'm camping in a tent! Hope the weather is on my side else could be a grim weekend lol

P.S. I have an Oztent which I've used in thunderstorms in France so hopefully will stand up to the famous Welsh rain!

Not sure if you want to share i have a twin room at the commodore hotel not far from the metropole so stagerring distance , need to make up my mind if im still going did a 4 mile run and i was suffering with my lower back.
If i do go it'll probably be the 60 miles or if i don't ride i could do support/broom wagon duties and get to meet you all and have a jolly time or wait for you in the pub where it'll be dry and warm
