I see you've been putting in some big miles too Bridgy well done mate. It's a real shame you won't be in Wales.

With regards the rehydration I've bought some with electrolytes and caffeine in them which seems to make sense. I don't drink coffee so it could turn me a bit mental.
Thanks TT - yeah I've managed to squeeze in a couple of longer rides recently - enjoying the Spring weather!

Good training Paul for the DD certainly. Just need good conditions. I'm not doing the 121 miles. 95 miles will do me fine :okay:
Max 95 miles for me. See how I am on the day but may bail to the 60 miles if weather is really poor and my fitness is equally poor :B)

Likewise, don't drink caffeine, so may just opt for something without caffeine

I'd been using less water and food over longer distances up to 80 miles, which was ok for relatively flat rides, but TdY was an intense ride, I misjudged that I needed more fluids, salts and a bit more food to keep my energy up and importantly cramps at bay. So I will return to 700mil per hour with electrolyte mixture and eat a little more food an extra banana in between millionaire shortbread:mrpig:

I really like it in 60g bars. Instant sugar hit from the chocolate and fudge topping and a little bit of fat and carbs from shortbread. I do like flapjack aswell.
If you suffer after gels, take some dried apricots instead, easily stored in a jersey pocket and good for sugars, easy to digest as well.

Well, I haven't even got on my bloody bike for a few months. Now debating whether or not to even attempt the 60!! But WHATEVER happens I will be there for the social and if I don't ride I will run as additional support, which I can assure you will be quite useful!

How many are actually doing it? Do we have a grand total? Because I will organise a meal at the Metropole for the night before. I will speak to the manager and get some high carb option for us, he's very accomodating.

Hey Adam

Pasta and chicken good selection of veg please. Golden syrup pudding with custard ^_^

Pasta and chicken sounds sensible! I'll speak to him this week. Just need numbers really. He also said if I let him know who is in the group, he will put all those staying at the Met, on the same floor.

Im still undecided wether to book a room or drive up on the morning
It's a very early start, and you'll miss out on the meet and greet and the after event bragging piss up! There's a couple staying at my sister-in-laws campsite if you have a caravan or are brave enough to camp! Pretty sure the Metropole is fully booked now!
