What normally happened is that an explosive climber or two get a gap on the Cauberg and then a few strong singletons group up behind them but don't work together and so whoever got away on the climb contends the sprint.
The only finish that did not go like that recently was Kreuziger's late break.

Now the climb is further from the finish whoever gets away needs good legs and whoever is chasing will need to work together.
Those with only a sprinters choice will be constantly challenged by suicide loners from the non sprinters team to wear out thier train.

All be it I don't think the finish will be as exciting it will be a highly tactical race.
None the less he who wins will need good legs and to be kept safe over the numerous tough climbs.
I would like to see a VA/ Gilbert head to head though with Direct Energie pulling hard for Coquard behind hot on thier tails. All this after a monumental lone effort from Tim Wellens from about 50km out.

Keep your eye on UAE's on form Italian pair, Cobrelli and Gasparotto though, they could surprise everyone.

PS. That all said I want Ben Swift to win from a depleted group that make it up the Cauberg.

Trouble is then the Splitters can say that 'Swift wins again'

Cod it! We're off out to look for a cat at a local shelter.
I'll probably miss it all and will be left to watch the highlights which always leaves you feeling you missed the middle of the story which ultimately set the scene.

Kwiatkowski wasn't listening to the commentary about the headwind to the line. He got the lead but succumb to the headwind before the line. Gilbert was caught napping but benefitted from drafting to the line and pinched a well deserved win.
