What happened to the bike? Do you have any pictures? Everything gets photographed now (and shared on social media!) - not so much back then which makes any photos you do have so much more interesting

As for the bike, I sold it before I was posted to Germany and bought a Motorbike but kept myself fit doing Cross Country and the then new fad known as orienteering.

I run at anything between 38 & 45 normally with a 150 max.. the mistake I made tonight was having dinner 90 minutes before I rode. Demand on my legs and my tummy... xx(

138 and 145 I hope.
If its 38 and 45 your resting rate would be about 20 bpm!

The youngsters don't realise how strong our old hearts are, we don't need high revving 180's anymore as our pumps have improved to work just as well at 160.
It must be a volumetric thing.
And as you can see I have big lungs as well.

be interesting if you did the same ... take a ride fro Zwift and ride it in Bkool and compare the differences/similarities. Mine wasn't out by too much (I don't think, although I can't actually check as BKool still not uploaded the ride!!!). I know in Zwift I played about a bit on the Mall sprint which probably lost me a couple of minutes, so real diff was probably 1-2 minutes over a 55 minute ride (4-5% performance in BKool over Zwift which may not be that significant).

Hi Carl Send me a link to the ride and I'll do it i pick a pace ive done before on Zwift. I suspect for me though it will roughly correct, Its the Bkool trainer that gives the advantage

38 resting, chugs happily along at around 45. I once had to go in for an echo and they brought in another doctor to try to scare me, just to get something to record. I was diagnosed with a systolic heart murmur at 20, to which I thought my cycling days were over... I remember his words.. "I'll look out for you in the Tour De France". Nice chap..

Well after all the hard work me & @AAAC 76C put in last night on the Chaingang, I increased my average watts by 13 watts to 264 - all which increased my ability status by one to Average 10.. WTF?

Beige forever.. :surrender:

We could give it another go Saturday.
What do you need to go red?

Realising I've had my flies undone all morning at work normally does it for me.

That is nice and low.
Do you have to check your still alive in the morning?

My RHR has not been that low since I could ride all day with my chin on my stem..

Can't do Saturday for two reasons.. one, you can guess as I'm a man of habit. Two, Ive been invited to join a couple of cyclists (via Strava) for a Sunday morning ride. Get me with real friends..:hugs: I'm not sure if I'm ready for social interaction?

On the watts thing. I was meant to change status with an increase of 1.7 watts. I increased it by almost 13watts with your help.. it's now saying... do another 1.7 watts & increase.. I should have done less AAAC.

I hope you weren't commando?

I thought Virtual friends was the must have thing nowadays, after all facebook is still popular xx(. You rarely, if ever, have to meet them. To most on here, up until a few weeks ago, I was Brad Pitt's doppleganger.

From day 1 on cyclechat your avatar said Brad to me.
Folk will be real disappointed if I post a real picture of me as well so worry not.

Re friend's, get to the pub more often for practice.

Re watts, have you put on a pound or two through the above practice?
Your ranking is based on Watts/kg

Yes I was an Army Commando.

RE Pub: cool, I'm off out in half an hour for a cheeky 2 or 3
RE Watts: nup, steadily losing weight thus the need for further rehydration
RE Commando: no wonder you blushed
