no - not yet ! dont want to put it on the trainer especially if it interferes with the trainer itself
cant find road long enough around here without a downhill
trying to get better on rollers so i dare go for it on them without the wobbles
failing that the wind is coming the right direction on saturday to head out onto the fens - the only downside is that i will be doing 25-30 mile before trying to hammer it
might head for sutton bridge if it warms up and make a day of it
been reading what i can on google and sort of set zones up at the rate i got the other night and tried a workout just by zones but i was on rollers only second time this year and i can only say if i had filmed in i think mr harry hill would have paid good money for it !

Rollers are scary!

I know what you mean about just getting a rough idea about zones. It's not like we're training for the Olympics! I think it'd be handy to do amore controlled test every so often though. I'm thinking if you just pair the power meter to the garmin and nothing else it should be fine to just measure power over a set period of time as you don't need to measure distance travelled.

Just did WC stage 15 - mostly downhill either side of a big old hill. I put a few ghosts in and stayed with Jacob until the bottom of the hill, and then managed to get 30 seconds ahead of him by the summit. Unfortunately he then descended like a demon and despite my best efforts he caught up, shot past me and then took another 30 seconds off me on the descent to the finish.

I'm sure you can climb the hill much quicker than me @AAAC but make sure you get as far ahead Jacob as you can as he's super quick on the way down!

That hill is a proper slog, but your right, there are no real steep gradients.. the big men will blast away down the tuther side..

I went for a power2max one and I believe Berty went for a powertap hub based one. I went back and fourth a fair bit, I even had last minute thoughts about spending the money I'd set aside on a new turbo.

Wow, very nice but a bit spendy? Does Mrs TT know? Did you get a good price?

He does descend like DP, I know only too well, he generally has no problems in taking 30 seconds or more out of me going downhill so like you say you need to get to the top first.

Ha! she does know as it happens. A lot of the cycling gear I buy comes from a savings pot I created when I packed up smoking so there's no reason not to be candid about, most of it...

I don't know if I got a good deal though to be honest Bob. I decided last summer I was going to get a power meter around this time so it wasn't an impulse buy like the etap was. But I'm still thinking I should of thought more into getting a second hand unit. The newer model had features like more connectivity options, slightly better accuracy and an internal battery with a really long charge life so I went with that. Power meters seem somewhat overinflated in my opinion although I do understand they cost a fair bit to develop. I made a choice between powertap pedals and the power2max in the end and they're a fairly similar price.

Looks good to me from what I have read at DCR and elsewhere.
Now, if you can spare a tenner you can try Zwift properly for a month ( while riding bsim too of course) and pair the P2m as a power source and the pro as controllable and see what it's like.

i have got the average for the last 5 rides outside by adding and dividing so dont think i am far out ! but i aint telling as its embarrassingly low -- i dont know how i start and finished at same spot but coast down more hills than go up :okay:

I don't really have the motivation at the moment to be honest. Once my back's 100% I'm all set up to do more outdoor riding and I'm still happy to race and use the hill climbs on bkool. I do miss you guys though . And at this point it looks like bkool's prospects are on par with asbestos knives and forks... so time will tell

I reckon you'd have to do a dedicated session where you're really going for it to be really fair to your true potential so don't beat yourself up too much!

Still at least you've got a starting point now.
