Berty did you manage to work out how best to do it? I've just ordered a power meter and like you I figured it'd be easier to get set up on the turbo.

It looks a bit heavy going but seems to be well recommended.

Tommy, training with power is similar to heart rate training, except there is no drift in power unlike heart rate. If you can't make the usual power, you're tired or ill. If you use a PM with a HRM, you soon learn at what heart rate you can do certain power and vice versa.

I went for a power2max one and I believe Berty went for a powertap hub based one. I went back and fourth a fair bit, I even had last minute thoughts about spending the money I'd set aside on a new turbo.

You should be able to combine the pair on Zwift, trainer-road

I'm not sure if LBHifi got his PM and bkool pro working together with bsim

You could pair the PM to your Garmin to give you a comparison against bkool pro numbers. Boxers has done this i believe. I have used this to see if my outdoor power is roughly the same as indoor (kickr)

Yeah I hope for me it will be a natural progression from using power to train on the turbo. Like you say, it's putting the pieces together. I've only noticed in the last few weeks the correlation between the 2 first hand.

I'm thinking I can use it via my garmin on bkool just to set up my 'zones'.

I did also think in the long term it will make the potential transition to zwift easier without having to buy a new trainer. It has a cadence sensor built into it so with a hrm too it will give me all the creature comforts of a turbo in the real world.

Thanks Brush guard, at 5 GMT we are still at work in the UK trying to earn enough to retire before we are 67 so we can get more Turbo miles in!
I will try and hit the 7 GMT session but I don't finish work tomorrow until 06:30 so it will be tight.
I might join late and draft through the pack.

Well, I'm not 100% that I won't join you at 7PM instead (8 o'clock in Denmark), just to avoid being beaten by Skovsgaard AGAIN. :-) Regarding retirement, current outlook indicates age 69 or 70 for me... :-(

no - not yet ! dont want to put it on the trainer especially if it interferes with the trainer itself
cant find road long enough around here without a downhill
trying to get better on rollers so i dare go for it on them without the wobbles
failing that the wind is coming the right direction on saturday to head out onto the fens - the only downside is that i will be doing 25-30 mile before trying to hammer it
might head for sutton bridge if it warms up and make a day of it
been reading what i can on google and sort of set zones up at the rate i got the other night and tried a workout just by zones but i was on rollers only second time this year and i can only say if i had filmed in i think mr harry hill would have paid good money for it !

As always, you can join the WC race hosted by BKool on Thursday. You can join the warmup/race at 5pm or 7pm GMT. Look for the yellow FEATURED label in the Live section. I'll join the 5pm race. Jacob Skovsgaard usually attends the early race as well, meaning you COULD face some competition (from him, not me). :-)

More info at bkoolers.com and the "BKOOL - English" Facebook page....
you will be pleased to hear you just kicked my assss in stage 14 and i bet you werent even sweating !

Nice night off tonight, suppin a few beers and resting my legs after my mammoth effort yesterday... Including my increase in two wheeled status.. then.....

I just realised I haven't actually had the 'G' bike outdoors, in the real world.... What with my plans to transfer my awesome power in Bkool to the Falkirk Sportive I think I better get outdoors.. guess what. The cycling gods are with me... for the past week it has absolutely honked down with rain, this followed by snow and now, looking at the forecast for tomorrow, dry with a chilly wind.. :cold:

Perfect :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle: weather...

I would go out for a ride myself but I'm worried about my hair.

Just did WC stage 15 - mostly downhill either side of a big old hill. I put a few ghosts in and stayed with Jacob until the bottom of the hill, and then managed to get 30 seconds ahead of him by the summit. Unfortunately he then descended like a demon and despite my best efforts he caught up, shot past me and then took another 30 seconds off me on the descent to the finish.

I'm sure you can climb the hill much quicker than me @AAAC but make sure you get as far ahead Jacob as you can as he's super quick on the way down!
