**UPDATE**

My poor Boardman is quite broken with a cracked seat stay.. I've looked up repairs etc however, I think other than a new frame, it is forever now going to be an 'indoor' bike.. I've now renamed my bike Bkool - as it once worked very well and now it doesn't.. I'm going to get a new derailleur and hanger and get the seat stay fixed - it will then forever be on the trainer.

In the meantime, I shopped around on gumtree and subsequently visited the seaside at Saltcoats tonight and purchased a classic Giant Defy for little money (remember I am a Yorkshireman in Scotland) - the bartering should have been recorded for training purposes.. which all means I will be competing again very soon... and... I don't have to use my Chopper for next weeks sportive...

All I need to do is pimp it up, set it up, fit it up and we're grand again.

I think a couple of others on here have the same model. They are great looking.

I find Chris Boardman plain looking and very uninteresting to listen to and would by no means consider him as a model let alone great looking.

PS: Once upon a day it would have been a case of heating up the brazing, removing the drop out and fitting a new one.
Most drop out on decent frames would have been campag so there was never a problem finding a replacement.

I so enjoyed my Tenerife trip, the same company do European trips. I have received an invite to do the Mount Ventoux ride in early September.

So off I go to climb the mountain from 3 sides :wahhey:

Give the envelope a shake Andy. Any 'spare' invitations fall out? :hugs:

Only joking, were away in September. Very jealous of you though! Nice 1 mate :okay:
