d'Huez done, waiting for it to show up, over the hour at 1 hour 1 minute and 24 seconds, nice steady spin, very pleased with the legs this morning. I eased off a little in the middle section, trying to keep the HR steady and leave some for a final burst. The final burst wasn't quite what I had in mind and turned into more of a slightly increased trickle :-)

January League now closed, and congratulations to Kipster for a well deserved win, with a clear 5 minute lead! :bravo::bravo::bravo:

Congratulations also to Bill for a podium place even though he missed a stage, and to Camerauk, Rob H, Richylad and Jean-Michel for top ten places having recorded only 2 stages (only 1 in Rob's case). Clear contenders ...

Prizes for consistency to Blueface and Paul for recording all 5 stages. :bicycle:

3 stage wins went to Bill (Ruta Cister Etapa, Salcombe Hill and Mundial Ponferrada), 1 to Kipster (Dipford Loop) and 1 to Adski (Haytor Vale)

I'd like to give the Sprint and Mountain points but it seems to be extremely broken, Bkool did say they hope to fix it in the next release.

All together 19 people took part, thanks to everyone for their involvement and encouragement.

February's league should start today (but probably not until 10 pm or so), enjoy ...

Let's not forget that we need to remove 2 or so minutes from my lead time due to the glitch on Dipford which saw me at 200 ish km/h......

This makes it a little closer, so we'll done everyone. And Geoff for some close riding all through the league and for organising it all.

Hi all. Finally got me a bkool pro and am really happy with it, so Firstly Thanks for all the info posted on here.

I would like to join your league's and group rides but am unsure of how to go about this. I have searched for the cyclechat group and can see that there are three groups listed. Which one is yours please?
Also, once I've joined will I see the rides that are scheduled?
Do I need to be a premium member to join your rides?

Many thanks ( and please go easy on me as I really well be the fat lad at the back! );)

Hi ,
Can somebody help me please. I have just paid for premium access and been given a code. But when I input this code into the box ( voucher) it says it is not valid. Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks,

Glynn

You'll want to join the 'Thursday night cc group' and Mountain goats if you enjoy climbs. You will see the scheduled rides. The Thursday night cc group, do a group ride/race on a Thursday at 7pm, although you can do the ride at any time within the schedule dates. The mountain goats is a world of pain, but very well worth doing as there is plenty of gain.

I don't know if you'll need premium to join the rides, but if you do the group ride it helps to have the 3d view which is a premium feature.

Normally you get a years free premium membership included with your purchase. The extra voucher you just purchased might not be validated till after your first 12months?

I took so long to reply, I see Kipster has beaten me to it ...

Currently active Groups are

The Mountain Goats - Riding up virtual mountains - usually 1-2 hour mountain climbs - link here - http://www.bkool.com/group/show/75682
Thursday Night CC Group - aimed at Multi-User Group rides for mixed abilities - usually on a Thursday night, with a weekend re-run but open to ride all other times - http://www.bkool.com/group/show/72022

To be a member of either group you just need to be active here and have a bkool account, and should apply to join on Bkool, then post here with your Bkool Moniker so we can tie the two together.

New members are always welcome, so long as they are also active in this forum. To keep the groups relevant and friendly, applications that cannot be matched to an active Cyclechat user are not accepted.

Once your application to join has been accepted you will see the rides that are scheduled and they will appear in your League tab in the Simulator.

The Group rides are generally started by Group admin and you join during the 10 minute warm-up from the Live tab.

Both Groups have regular Leagues, usually a calendar month at a time. We are just starting the February leagues in both so now is an ideal time to join. Each month there are roughly 4 weekly stages to complete, the cumulative times counting to the monthly league. If you miss one or more stages, Bkool credits you with the slowest riders time plus 5%, so you are still in the monthly table. You can do the stages any time during their active period (roughly a week) and can have multiple goes to log the best time you can.

You need to be a premium member for the Multi-player rides, or for the video or 3D views, where you can see the other riders avatars.

You can ride solo without being a Premium member, but the experience will be diminished in many ways, you will not have a 3D view or video, which can be useful on the solo rides as it gives you something to focus on.

It is good to have people to ride with, no matter what ability level, as it can get lonely at the front or the back, or indeed in the middle, and having someone to chase, draft or try to drop can be very motivating. Particularly on a fast section, getting together and taking it in turns to lead and draft can much increase your overall pace, and allow you to catch faster riders, just like in reality! ^_^

I think most people here would say that the group dynamics give great motivation and support and make the whole experience much more involving, and the training really helps to improve ability and endurance.

Cheers,

Geoff

Hi Geoff , kipster and darryn,

Thanks for your replies.
In reply to some of your text,

I absolutely love climbing on my bike , but at over 100 kg , I'm not of the best build for doing so. Hence the purchase of the trainer! I usually get up then eventually though and will look forward to the pain.

I think the trainer that I have bought is a reconditioned unit and therefore I don't think comes with any free premium access which is why I have paid for the access.

My bkool monicker is glynnjenno

I will input my application to join both leagues now through the links you have provided. Many thanks.

I suspect I will be the last person anyways so missing a session and getting the slowest time plus 5% will probably be an advantage to me anyways. Looking forward to enjoying rides with other people is the main reason of me joining.

Many thanks .
