Yes Lars. I think you owe us an explanation :notworthy:

Funny ride that today, now I look back on it.
I was dying on the downhill and could only manage spurts of power on the up bits but by the time it went down again I just wanted to get off and walk.
LB looked like he was playing with me, something that I am not used to and it was killing me so I was swearing at LB today..
All that said my HR barely rose above 155 for the whole ride.
My only explication is that my legs were dying from doing two hard stages on Tuesday and they just could go fast enough to make my heart get a work out.
Either that or LB has broken my heart.
What is even funnier, like ha ha funny, is that I felt dead in my warm up ride today so I joined with the intention of taking it easy and then....
I set of pretty easy but as LB and Bridgy went of into the distance I thought why not.
By the time I got over the climb I realised why not, I was stupid thinking that was a race to the top and then a spin to the finish.
The effort never feking stopped!

I must confess to not enjoying that much at all. After initially getting going at a decent pace I was very quickly down to 250 watts or so and legs were hurting. I really hope it wasn't anything to do with my recent saddle moving. Strangely I still found myself creeping forward on the saddle, although now I can move it further forward if it becomes necessary.
Regarding LB, I fear that you may perhaps have to accept some heart break because my theory is that Lars has had his new unit calibrated by bkool and they found that his was putting out too much resistance so they now loosened it off.
My performance is getting worse and after the main uphill was over I was only good for 150 watts or so. This is rather worrying for the international race event in a few weeks time and I may have to take the hilly one slow so I can try to put in a half decent performance for the other two. I think that's the only tactic that will work for me.

LBHIFI,

You should be getting a "you've been beaten" email from me. Oh yeah!!! Team gravity.

LB,

Would you mind acknowledging here that you got a "you've been beaten" email from me. I challenged and beat you on a warm up ride before today's race.

Sorry, straight from turbo to tuck in the kids, and I fell asleep along with them .

The explanation is that Bkool for once decided to be in a particular generous mood this evening. If I could average 380 real watts for an hour I would not only qualify for the world TT championships, I would probably win it .

However, I did feel very strong and was able to go to higher HR than usual. During the latter part I felt I was able to cruise for long periods at 170 bpm, which is only 6 beats away from my highest ever recorded HR.

AAAC you scare me saying you were not 100%.
If it takes you not being top notch, Bkool being in a generous mode and me being at my strongest, I doubt history will repeat itself anytime soon.

Yes, that was full throttle all the way until the end :B) ^_^.

Apologies for saving that session, knowing Bkool generosity was a bit over the top, but as long as it didn't interfere with the general league rankings, I was not about to throw away one of my best efforts ever.

I wish I have had my power pedals so I could have seen the real watts. I'm pretty sure that would have been +280 watt.

Oh...I didn't mention that before did I? My bad luck spree last month began with a wrench slipping and crushing my left power pedal while I was trying to demount it :cursing:. Just got it back from repairs in Italy but haven't found the time to mount it yet.

It has been an expensive month. The shop where I bought the new Pro, wouldn't promise they would take the unit back, but they send it to the labs for testing, so at least I will hopefully get a more reliable trainer back.

+280watts is not too shabby!

Sounds like you have had a pretty tough time of it Lars.

Looking at the detailed stats of that ride it doesn't look out of place to me so no need to apologise for saving it I think!

Bkool watts are obviously inaccurate but we can at least compare between ourselves and our previous rides and averaging 380 "Bkool watts" is about right for winning a chaingang stage if you look at the other stages - and certainly not beyond what we know you can do when in form! I'd say your previous ride with only 250 bkool watts was more unusual for you than this one

Got to agree with Bridgy on that one.
My only observation was that LB seemed to sail through the 'dead stops' which affected both Bridgy and I.
I even had a double stop at one point because the steep slope had a short relative flat on it.
LB's acceleration downhill seemed to kick earlier as well but conversely so did his deceleration going up so that evened out anyway.
As a result of this several times I got/almost got back to him just to be left for dust when things went down.
