But you do realise Geoff, that if you go up a rating, I will not rest until I catch you?

Ah, but I have a fiendish plan, which is to out diet you!

I must be one of very few Bkoolers to have lost weight on Christmas day and Boxing day.

Just hit my end of year target of losing 12 pounds, so I'm aiming for another 9 lbs by the end of February (1 lb a week) which should get me down from 23% body fat to near my target 17%, if I can keep the muscle mass steady.

Mmm....cunning indeed! I have comfortably gained a few pounds over christmas. I'll just ditch my water bottle, trim my handlebar tape, drill a few holes in my bike frame and take one brake block off each set. That should maintain a state of equilibrium on my Turbo!
I haven't quite plumped out to match my Avatar yet, but I shed weight very easily, so a couple of weeks will see me back to racing snake dimensions.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas? If sheer volume of Nerf darts carpeting our house is any measure of success, we had a belter.

Does anyone use the outdoor app? I have installed it on my experia mini which has an ANT+ support chip built in, but when I open the app there is no heart rate strap reading to be seen. Do I have to install some other ant apps? (The ant radio and services apps are already installed btw).

Just ordered the Pro but been playing about on my original trainer, i never guessed that this would be possible... winter training just got that bit easier!

Not got a clue Darryn but have you a Garmin or such like? I just use Garmin and export to Bkool, it may be easier anyway.

I just mailed support and it is 'on their roadmap' but no set date yet. I feel they should remove statement of the 'HR measurement' possibility of the app on the home page then!
I will stick with Selfloops app for outdoor then I suppose.
I don't have any Garmin devices, but I use a Sony Xperia mini which has built in ANT support, so it links directly with my strap, or any other ANT transmitter. ill see if I can export those files into BKool.

Actually it just dawn on me that BKool answered my mail within an hour, not bad! Maybe they are still at the office xmas party LOL.

Guys, I've just published January's Thursday Night CC League, I hope you like it.

For those who like to get in an early run, Stage 1 should start tomorrow (or Tuesday, knowing BKool's vague approach to dates), but the group runs are all scheduled for the usual 7pm on Thursday.

I have tried to password protect the sessions, so if it works you should have to enter cyclechat as the password.

Hopefully something for everyone.

On Week 2 there's a Group Velodrome session, but as these don't seem to show up in the league, I'll just start a Velodrome session at the appropriate time, and try and make it a timed session, so it's down to how many laps you manage in the, say, 20 minutes. Then there's a very short climb to follow, to give something to include in the league that week.

The other weeks include a mix of stages, a moderate run with ups and downs, another with some added flat sections for drafting, a short rolling course and the monthly climb, a 30 minute climb from the 100 climbs.

7pm Thurs Jan 1st - Moderate c.45 min. 10Km mix of climbs and flats - RUTA CISTER ETAPA 3
7pm Thurs Jan 8th - the Group Velodrome then a short 1.2 Km climb - Salcombe Hill (No. 12)
7pm Thurs Jan 15th - the Local choice - c. 30 min easy - Dipford Loop (my local easy training run)
7pm Thurs Jan 22nd - the Monthly Climb - c. 30 min climb up Haytor Vale (No 9 in 100 climbs)
7pm Thurs Jan 29th - Moderate c.45 min. 18Km of climbs, flats and some descents - Ponferrada 2014

Hope to see as many of you as can make it on Thursday night,

Geoff

Please can you let us know your BKool name, so I can match it with your request.

What trainer are you using at the moment? Is BKool software just reading your speed and cadence, and leaving the resistance to you?

Nice!

I better do the same for the Goats when I sober up. Got a massive list of scary rides if that helps:smile:.

Nice work Geoff, looking forward to those....except the velodrome! Not a big fan of those sessions, but it has to be done. This is why it works for me, having you guys set the sessions! I would be coasting down hills, drafting a Spurrer Bot if left to my own devices...so thankyou!

Hi Geoff

Profile on Bkool is James Baxter

I have a crono elite, cadence, hrm and ant+ currently but it doesnt work very well with the software... seems to slow me down regardless of flat / hill so i ordered a BKool Pro last week

I probably wont jump on your rides till i get the new turbo anyhow
