I think you guys may as well drop me from the Rebels, sounded good until I seen the routes you had chosen. I'll stick with Thurs group and let you mountain goats handle them big hills ^_^

Ok its a point well made. I don't think most signed up for the kind of rides I've scheduled so far so I'd like to suggest the disbandment of this particular group so we can concentrate on the Thursday Night Group for a good mix of rides that probably appeal to most people. I am happy to help with any admin duties if required.
I would also like start a group for those who want to ride up mountains, and thanks Exeter, I'd like to call it The Mountain Goats, so people will know what to expect.

Any thoughts?

Great idea, I'm up for The Mountain Goats, I can only get faster! :training:

I'd like to give the real thing a go sometime, probably ventoux!

Need to improve both sides of watts per kg first ...

Sad? That's definitely me:sad:. Not sad enough to ride up a mountain today though. Got to go and visit the wife's friend later though so could be needing to :bicycle:by the time we get back. Perhaps :cheers:instead though .

Merry Christmas Geoff.

I'll def be up for the mountain goat group, as long as we have a week to do the ride, then I can fit it into my tri program. Can you just not change the description of the rebels group, instead of 'no rules' make it 'mountain goats only'?

Just thinking about what to do for the next Thursday night league.

We've got until Sat (27th) to register a time for El Bosquet-Porrera, you should have no problem beating my 1:04:17.4.

Then I'm tempted to start working through the 100 climbs at one a week, though some of them are very short (Bill should manage some of them in around 5 minutes).

It would be nice to do another Velodrome session, but they don't seem to work well in the leagues.

Perhaps on the weeks when a short climb is scheduled for Thursday night we could add a group Velodrome session? 20 to 30 minutes seems enough for going round in circles being lapped repeatedly!

Any thoughts welcome?

Bill, any plans for the next Rebel League?

Geoff
I haven't had a chance to come out and play yet, but I certainly intend to! My own view is that I think the 100 climbs idea sounds great, and I really like the velodrome, it seems to have the potential for great interactive racing. I'm not so keen on the long climb as I think one tends to do those at ones own pace and hence they are just as easily tackled alone.

I might be on for 1st of January!

Merry Xmas and a great new year to you all!

Just an FYI for anyone else unable to upgrade last week.

Hi Randy,
Thanks for your message. We have currently stopped the firmware update, you won't be asked for it now. In the coming week we will release it again.

Hello, When I tried to update my trainer it failed and timed out. I haven't had another prompt since then. Where do I go to start the trainer firmware update?
boo! Sounds like you will have to be patient

Merry Christmas folks. Been bonkers here, so not had much time to play either. There's certainly a mountain goat here, eager to climb. Been a bit off colour this last week, but well on the mend now, and dying to get back aboard the BKool Soul Destroyer.
You are a lot more organised than me Darryn....a tri program? I've heard of them, but tend to opt for the 'wing it' approach!

Haha, yeah thats how I usually do it as well but I've entered my first 70,3 ironman in Kraichgau, then 2 weeks later again in Luxemburg for 2015, so I though I better at least have a plan of attack! I'm still in cruise mode for the moment, but as of next week it's 4,5mnths of nothing but training and prep races....fun times aye .

I thought of that initially but the Rebels group has a lot of members who have never showed up nor posted on this forum except maybe once. Even admin has one or two who somehow got in at the start and never shown up nor use this forum. Unfortunately it's not possible for me to delete an admin member so the only way is probably a fresh start

I will be up for the mountain goat group, but I am guilty of only posting once and not joining a ride yet, I joined up and have not long recovered from winter germs, did my first bkool ride tonight, so getting back into it now, so I'll be joining in now.

Love the avatar Bill! Indeed a fine goat speciman! I am nervously dreading lugging my, now considerably heavier, festive bulk, onto my turbo trainer for the first time in about 10 days I think! This is going to hurt!

My wife is doing a full iron man in July, I am heading up the drinking support team! My role will consist primarily of throwing energy boosting sweets at her back, when she steams past me unexpectedly outside The Dog and Duck.
My turn 2016! Its not logistically possible for us both to train to that intensity with our young boys......thank goodness! Gives me another 12 months to come up with more excuses!
