I intend doing the ride over the next couple of days - is there any way that I can see 'the competition' when doing the ride? Do I have to use the 'challenge' function or will that not count in the league (plus that will only show one rider surely)?

If you go into setup, you should be able to add as many opponents as you like.

I have just done the Thursday night ride this morning but do not appear in the rankings
Does it take a while for the results to show up?

Andy

Reported it to bkool and a little later I tried it again and hey presto, it approved straight away.

Good run, by the way, you missed the lead by 7.5 seconds. Did you have a virtual Adam to chase?

1 Adski 0:31:46,3
2 camerauk 0:31:53,9 0:00:07,5
3 Geoff 0:32:23,0 0:00:36,6

It occurs to me that drafting a virtual opponent gives you an unfair advantage. I could improve my time by drafting myself, and then do it again and again!

All joking aside, if in the spring, or the summer even, some of you did fancy doing a live bike ride! I do live in the heart of Wales, in a place that lends itself beautifully to cycling. Check out www.elanvalley.org.uk. There is even a brutal 5 mile climb to the top of the Elan Valley for the nutters. I would be more than happy to coordinate a weekend of cycling if anyone did fancy it, in a few months.

Ooh, mid wales, sounds good. Do you have 12 spare rooms?

"5 mile climb to the top of the Elan Valley for the nutters" - that would be Bill then! ^_^

I've twigged what is going on with the Lost Signal issue, and it is a bit lame, I'm afraid.

The Lost Signal setting is the "maximum time in seconds of sequential samples which repeat the same speed and power values, or heart rate or cadence signal goes to 0 value".

If you look at the results where the Lost Signal forces validation, the value is often in the thousands of seconds.

I realised that it looked the around same as the Actual time in seconds recorded for the attempt, and must be due to no heart rate monitor.

I checked and all the ones that failed on a long "Lost Signal" match exactly their actual time taken in seconds and also always have a 0 heart rate.

So the numpties are giving anyone without a heart rate monitor a Lost Signal count equal to the exact length of the ride, then forcing a validation acceptance.

Anyone with a functioning heart rate monitor should very rarely get the same signal for more than 10 seconds, so will generally be OK (one of mine was as high as 16 seconds for some reason).

The only option at the moment is to set the expected Average Heart Rate to 0 and the Lost Signal to something like 9,999 (2 hours 46 minutes).

I think I might contact bkool and suggest that they allow for people to ride without a heart rate monitor.

Oh boy! Just did La Riba. I didn't feel too well by the end. To me it felt harder than Alpe d' Huez. A lot of up and down and gear changes so hard to keep the power on.

Before that I looked at the live sessions and joined a few 3d rides. Seemed to work properly. Played about with filters but don't think that made any difference.

They seem to be aware of the issue I guess??
Their auto reply stated " we are currently on siesta and will reply on our return"

You can add a password to a session during the setup, but I can't figure out how to add it to a League Stage Master Session?

I've tried a few different ways, but just managed to get the same session scheduled three times on the same day in my scheduled sessions!

I haven't published the next two weeks league yet, as I have asked bkool how to setup the Master Sessions, and I'm hoping they will come back to me with an answer.

I hope no-one else has the multiple scheduled sessions from the unpublished league. I think I'll setup a test league with no members for all the piddling about.

The plan for next week is currently a velodrome session next Thursday.

Each lap is 0.155 miles, so 80 laps is 12.4 miles. On a flat circuit with lots of drafting that could take less than 30 minutes.

The maximum 100 laps could take less than 40 minutes. If you don't manage all the laps you won't get a time.

How about we set a time limit, rather than a number of laps.

One advantage of that is that we will all start and finish at the same time, so it's the most laps done in the time that counts. If you get there late, or quit early, you should still register a number of laps.

If we did it this way, any suggestions as to how long a time limit?

Just the one spare room, regrettably, but there are lots of lodges and log cabins around this area, that primarily cater for cyclists and walkers. But my sister-in-law also has a well equipped caravan and campsite, not 2 minutes from here, then there are a few hotels. But, since we have all bought BKool Turbo Trainers, and not the top end high spec machines, I can also include some pictures of local barns, that I think some of you could probably sneak into after dark!
