That's the one ive got well ive tried a printer cable and no joy I can't get the printer end into the trainer so I'm stuck , I've just looked at the inventary on the instructions I got and no mention of a cable but I need it to update the ant stick by the look of it , I wonder if there's different type of printer cables mine has a big square end on it and a Ethernet cable on the other side
You need a cable with terminals like this one.
You also need to have the roller powered from the mains while you are updating the software and while you are using the Ant+ stick.
Thinking about it, I see no reason why the trainer shouldn't work even if you don't have the latest software version. I'm more concerned about the Ant not working at the moment.
My BSim is version 1.131212a.

Just had a look that the same version as mine , I'm wondering if the ant isn't working untill I get it updated , can't get the cadence to pair either even tho it shows the numbers , I'll see what happens tomorrow if I can get a cable , what is the larger socket in the turbo for just next to printer cable socket it looks like a rj45 cable would fit in but its bit too small

I'm confused.
If the cadence "shows the numbers" of the pedal rotations, it HAS paired. AND the Ant is working. That's the only way the computer can get the information from the cadence sensor.
I think the other socket is for an alternative type of cable to the one I linked to. I can't find one that fits it, either.

Right I must be getting somewere with it then , just on the rainmaker review it actually changes from pair to paired and that's what I was trying to get

I think since Ray had done his review the Bkool has been updated with silver roller, smaller ant+ USB stick and different USB cable.

Asa I'll look into sports track and what ever else is on offer. I also saw tcxcreator which can merge files also so will look at that too.

Thanks

Right got it it came with a plug with options of two pin or three adapters I had the three pin in , just changed to the two pin and I heard the turbo motor fire up its paired and it's all systems go by the look of it , so basically three plus hours of messing about because of a buggered three pin plug , oh well and Asa post cheers for sticking with it and helping me along thanks

dont forget to pair the cadence sensor as well, you'll need to turn the crank once fitted so the bkool sim can pick it up then click on pair.

After looking at exporting sessions from BKool to Strava am I right in saying that the session saved HRM/FIT files on Bkool don't export the gps route information just the distance, cadence and speed etc and the gps info has to come from a garmin or an other source?

I can download the fit or hrm files from bkool and upload to strava and it shows up as a ride with distance, cadence and heart rate but no route info. I assume there is no route info contained in the hrm/fit files exported from BKool site and they have to either be created manually or come from a garmin etc and then merged which is where I am running into problems.

Maybe I am either wasting my time doing something that cant be done or using the wrong programs and a complete lack of knowledge.

Sadly, yes

That's why I have to use a mapping program to recreate the route, save it as a gpx, and then merge it.
