So I'm now thinking I may return mine during the trial period and purchase an Elite Realtour instead - this would leave me flexible to participate with Bkool but not tie me to one system.

• good powers (500 Watt at 30 Km/h) allow the correct simulation of slopes of up to approx. 5%;

This would put me off the Realtour, 5% is not much of a gradient!

I see that Rainmaker posted "all of their ‘Real’ Trainers will get the ANT+ Trainer profile by the end of the year (though they hope sooner)" so I guess Elite now have implemented it.

I think Bkool will have to eventually release ANT+ support, as they risk losing hardware sales rather than keeping the online subscriptions.

Cheers,

Geoff

Haha. That's way higher than I ever had my front end. Maybe just one on its own but worth a try to see what suits you best. I ended up with sore knees for a week or so when I raised mine too much. My advice would be stick with what you're used to for Col de la Madeleine. That riser block does look very practical though. I'm thinking one of the first two combinations .

As my bike is just over 1m between axles (1015mm) each 1% of gradient would need about 1cm more lift.

The middle height on a single block gives me just about a level bike when on the bkool trainer, so a single block can do -1%, 0% or +1%

The first (lowest) combination of two blocks adds 5cm, so roughly 4%, 5% or 6%

The second combination of two blocks adds just over another 5 cm, so roughly 9%, 10% or 11%

The last (highest) combination of two blocks adds just under another 5cm, so roughly 14%, 15% or 16%.

As Alpe d'Huez averages 8% or so, I guess it would probably be best to use 9% via the middle height combination with the lowest setting on the top block.

I'll try it out on the next Rebel League climb! :bicycle:

Blimey that's all a bit tech, all these percentages and such, my knee's are dodgy anyway so I don't think I will be trying anything like this

I did wonder about the low Watt figures in comparision with the Bkool. You're right 5% isnt a huge climb (even by my lesser standards) Pants. Still not sure what to do with it. Guess I'll know better after tonights League effort what its capable of

When I decided on the bkool, it was partly because it would go up to 20%, as I knew I wanted to train on 14%-18% gradients, as that's often what I find on the roads around here.

The Elite trainers are all much more expensive, more like the Wahoo KICKR price, apart from the RealTour, which seemed a bit weedy.

The RealAxiom claims up to 10%
The RealPower claims up to 20%
The RealTurboMuin claims up to 18%

It has to be said, the bkool is a bit of a bargain.
